ABSOLUTELY yes on the SoCal80's sticker. PM me with your address again and I'll send you one gratis!

Thank you sir. PM sent.

Mo excellent score. I too recent purchased a daily driver and parked the 80. In my case it was for two reasons, the gas mileage was one. But more so the wear and tear daily driving was taking on the 80. I have about 185,000 miles on her now. I want to keep this rig forever as my wheeler. If I continued to drive it everyday I would run it in to the ground. These rigs are not cheep when it comes to normal maintenance. The other huge benefit you can go crazy on the mods because it’s not a daily driver! 37-inch mud terrains who cares! It’s really nice to know you do not have to get all the work done that day because you have to dive it Monday morning. If there’s a delay in parts who cares!

I am thinking the same thing.

dude, it's a wagon, it's got steel wheels, a useless roof rack....it's the mini-me of 80's!

Funny, that was the look I was going for. :grinpimp:

perfect car, wagon to haul stuff and great mpg... as info I think that year of corolla has a timing belt... may want to check just to make sure and change it every couple of years other than that you will get tired of that thing before you wear it out...

Thanks for the tip Ray.

I checked ARB doesn't make a bumper for the Carolla.

Maybe if you learn to spell it correctly, you might have better luck in your search! :D

Why would i do that? Ohhhhh, you mean from this post from a month or 2 back.....

Because you are you. :flipoff2::flipoff2:

Smart move Mo! Glad to see you are coming to your senses! :D

In all seriousness, you chose a great car, and with proper care you will get 250k+ out of it!

Blows my mind more folks arent doing this.

I agree 100% and the funny thing is, folks still argue its not worth it, those that say the math dont work out, obviosly dropped outta school in 3rd grade cause they didnt know their colors! :flipoff2:

I figure it is the most practical room wise and MPG wise. When I did the math in our previous discussion it was $75 a month difference. It is now at $300 and I found myself not enjoying driving my truck everyday becuase I couldn't get past the cost of gas. We can't afford that luxury right now so...

Same here

We can't afford that luxury right now so...

Same here, and even if i could afford, i still wouldnt to it, just seems way to wasteful IMHO

And you guys all gave me a ration of shiat last year when I bought a commuter car! At the current $4.60 a gallon, it's more than paying for itself now.

Brent:

We were not giving you a hard time for buying a commuter car. We were giving you a hard time for the type of commuter car you bought.:D

Sorry I had to take the shot. One shot, one burn.

Yah, Yah, Yah, - I knew someone would bring that up! :D Surprised you beat E9999 to it tho Tare!

This coming from a 'person' that rides a scooter?

I was driving along yesterday and noticed there are a hell of alot of Corollas on the road. I see them all day everyday now, of course. But it got me to thinking. I wonder how many? So I did a little research and it turns out Toyota has sold more than 30 million Corollas world wide. Volkswagen only made 21.5 million Beetles from 1938 - 2003. Go figure.

Damn near everyone i knew on the east coast drove a corolla of some year and model, they dont seem as popular on the west coast, for whatever thats worth

We LOVE our corolla - 2003 CE. Bought it brand spankin new as a loss leader for $11,900. Lots of interior room, good motor, get 30+ mpg all day long (even the way I drive).

My only issue with this car is it's a little short on leg room. On long trips (more than 1.5 hours) my leg starts cramping up. Of course I'm 6'5".

You're right, there are a TON of them on the road.

I imagine it would be a little tight. I am 6' and it is perfect with the seat all the way back. I can't imagine someone having to sit behind me though.

Are you kidding Braden. This thing is the anti-bling. :D

Here she is gentlemen. The all new to me 1993 Toyota Carolla DX wagon.

Congratulations, Mo. I had to park the 62 and get something more economical for my going-off-to-college son. Good luck with it. As others have posted, I'm sure it'll be great for you.

I can't wait to see it lifted, with sliders, Line-X'd, maybe a Tercel 4WD drivetrain conversion, etc...

Am I going to be the last holdout in getting a car for a daily driver?

Nope, I'm still DD'ing mine - 1.5 miles each way to the vanpool lot!:p

 I specifically pickeed this car becuase there are no lift kits or armor for it. The first step is admitting you have a problem. :hillbilly:

It has been officially tagged with a SoCal 80's sticker (Thanks Brent ) so I guess it is a SoCal Toyota Wagon. :steer:

Oh, I did some PM on it yesterday baselining all the fluids. It had the green anti-freeze in it and I could only tell that when I opened the petcock to get a sample. Looking in the top it was bone dry. Glad I didn't put it off for a little while. It is now back to Toyota red and has been seriously flushed.
