Hello all. My name is Jason and I am new to the VI Landcruiser Community but have lived on VI for about 6 years. I recently purchased my second FJ45. This one actually runs and has had a lot of work done to it already, with plenty more left up to me. My last FJ45, currently in storage awaiting a rebuild, threw a connecting rod (2F) when I moved here from Cold Lake, AB. Unfortunately I am in the Forces and have had little time or ability to rip into it and turn it into my dream truck. I had engaged Radd Cruisers a few years back about doing a full resto on her with a new diesel and a spring over, but I really want to do it myself or at least be a part of the process so that if something goes on the trail, I'll have intimate knowledge of her quirks. I'm sure you have all had the same dream of driving along side of the wounded water buffalo, just to jump out and wrestle the beast to the ground and tag the poor SOB. OK maybe not the same dream but it is what has kept me hanging on to "Bernadette" for as long as I have without selling her.
I am looking forward to coming out to a club meeting and introducing myself in person. My main objective, besides sharing my passion for LCs, is to tap into the knowledge network. I have been reading the threads and there seems to be some very knowledgable LC owners here in my local community (Colwood).

By the way, I noticed that you just had a meeting, which I just missed by a couple days, will there be another soon? And my apologies to "wusspuppy" who I have been emailing and badgering about membership until I finally read the VI new members thread. :bang: My apologies. Happy Cruisin. Cheers!

I apollogize once again, wussyPup not wusspuppy. Terrible with names!

cheers adam..

Here are a few of my new '76 FJ45. Enjoy.

Welcome to the [STRIKE]island[/STRIKE]victoria cruiser community! There's at least, 6 of us down here, it's too bad that the island ends at goldstream. Hahaha. Definitely come out to the next meeting(s), it'll be nice to meet ya.

Fixed it for ya....;):flipoff2:

Nice 45 Jason !

I had one many moons ago, and strangely enough in a small town like chemainus, there's at least 4 of them . I pass two on my short stumble home from the pub.

They tempt me...:bang:

cheers,
Ryan

I've never seen so many as here on the island. I found my first in Cold Lake, AB when I was posted there in 2004. It was 1 of maybe 3 that I had actually seen in the flesh, so to speak. I had wanted one since I was like 5 so I couldn't pass it up when it came up for sale. Now i've got the bug, can't get enough.

Cheers!

Yeah, old cruisers are fairly well suited to the island, lotsa back roads and low speed limits...

Love the LWB 45!

The best thing about a 45 is that Ill never fit in one so there is no chance of acquiring one. Wife is happy about that!

Is that the 45 that was for sale on Used Vic. in Saanich?

Jayson are you a follower of the spark plug? Or is there a diesel swap in the future? Suppose no one here would hold it against you if you kept the gasser as its such a fine example of a 45. The Diesel guys out weigh the spark plug people around here as you may notice. :D

Look forward to meeting you.

Cam;
Yes it is the one that was in Saanich awhile back. He did a lot of stuff to it although the TLC still needs some t l c.

You know Cam I ask myself the very same question everyday about whether to just bite the bullet and go with a diesel. This one is running pretty well so I probably will leave it as a gasser for now.

I plan on a 12HT/1HZ for my other 45 but this one is pretty much stock and my son wants it in the worst way. I will probably turn it over to him in a couple of years once I know that it will last him through his college years then it will be up to him. I am definitely a pro diesel guy. I just can't figure out why we can't get the newer diesels on the market into Canada. I have spent some time in the Middle East and the newer diesels on the market over there are truly amazing. They're quiet, efficient and are cleaner than any of the diesels we are bringing into Canada after the 15 year law is instituted. Sad.:crybaby:

Welcome to the sickness. I bought my 40 here in Saanich back in 1991. Around 1993 I parted out a 45 for its rear axle and some other odds and ends. I still have its front axle, and John at RADD got the cab. There wasn't much of value on the truck. Drop me a line if you've got questions... I've been around the block a few times.

Thanks a lot. I'm sure I'll have some questions. Nice 40!
Cheers!

The funny part is that one had a diesel in it.... I know exactly the one. The guy wanted to keep it stock so he had pulled the diesel and 5 speed out... which I got..... then Ryan got...

Too funny.

nice 45... i do think that its worth more in original condition... with the 2f in it..

Yeah that is what I was thinking. I am not worried about my other 45 as it is not quite as good condition and I plan on making it bulletproof in the end.
