Now don't get me wrong, I love driving my sprung over fj55. It does drive great, nice and stable, stops great, and its comfortable. A 37 inch tire is an expensive tire to wear down on mostly road driving. Mine has been my daily driver for a very long time, up til a few years ago. Do you want to know what the worst part of driving a sprung over pig is? It's the attention. I can't go anywhere without having to talk to people, or recieving waves and thumbs up. Everyone has a story or knew someone with one. Blah blah. I even found a guy under it one day when I came out of Home Depot. It's like being in a one car parade. It's exhausting.

Here are a few shots that I got today, when I pulled the batttery to charge it. I was looking under the hood, and it appears that the egr is still there, but all the vacuum hoses are plugged off, and I'm pretty sure the header doesn't have the egr gas provision.

Over the next few days, ill probably start to tear into it more, and really check everything out.

nice...now lets see some pics of witw is going on under the hood. you may be closer than you think on the smog...also, don't even bother TRYING to test it with anything but a factory carb(of some vintage). a factory carb in fair condition with a proper set-up on it will not need to be jetted to pass smog. One thing I like about the 86 60 series set up, is that it has high altitude controls, so there is never a need to swap in jets, like the early units might need above 10000 feet...

I'm gonna try and get some pics of the engine bay tomorrow, I got a few things going on today, so I won't really have time. I want to get this thing out and let it stretch its legs.

Also, where is the vin plate on these? If its on the back side of the driver door seal, by the latch, I believe its been painted over...

Vin at aft lower of drivers door frame, another on the firewall or leading inside edge of either fender and the passenger front frame horn has number stamped into it about a foot back from the tip and visble from the passenger side...it will be fj55XXXXX

I'm on my app so I can't where you guys are, but in CA last year there was a petition to move the smog year to 81 I believe and it didn't pass. So 75 is going to be the year and probably for a long time. That's why I sought out a pre smog year. I originally wanted a 6bt swap but I like the obnoxious SBC it came with.
