Picked up my first FJ60 and learned a ton already through the forum! It appears to have sat for a while and just going through everything to assess my priorities. Got her tuned up and running well but needs brakes before I can drive it much. One thing that needs attention is the power steering pump as the fluid was really low and noticed the fluid is clear which makes be believe PO was using PS fluid rather than the red ATF. In addition, it seems like the pump was leaking just based on looks of things and the pulley has got a small dent in it. (see pics) Curious to get your thoughts on recommendations.
Should I just top off fluid and drive it (after doing brakes) to see what the pump is doing? Since I believe it's got PS fluid in it, should I flush and replace with ATF or consider just replacing the pump while I'm at it? I noticed a lot of talk about the Saginaw pump, worth that upgrade at the same time?
Thanks for all the valuable information on this forum and your recommendations.
