Good afternoon from down under.

I have owned an 2017 LX570 since new and it has mostly served as the wifes daily hauling our kids around and then on longer trips when we head out to Mullewa/Pindar to see family. While we have done a bit of off roading in it (mostly some rocky stuff/red dirt/etc) it has remained 100% standard. I am looking at slowly decking it out more as a few mates are keen to do a few off road trips/go camping and all that stuff.

I have been enjoying reading a fair bit on here as there seems to be a decent amount of LX owners. Not to sure how many Aussie LX owners are on here but hello to you! I'll no doubt have a stack of questions for you.

Few things I plan to do over time:
Expedition style roof rack setup.. I have the low sportsline factory rack mount on there and looks like I'll have to remove that (seems the cross bars for this setup around limited to 70kg load that I can find) and either mount direct or the other factory rack system then fit cross bars and U bolt an expedition rack onto that. Cross brace + U bolting seems to be the better option so I can unbolt it when not in use to minimise concerns of underground carparks.
270* awning and lightbar.
headers/full exhaust.. everything I can find seems to be for older LX's or for diesel models :/
set of smaller wheels to accomodate better tyres for offroading.

Lots of inspiration on here and thanks for your time!

Howdy!

Just a heads up- you'll need to drop your headliner in order to put up an aftermarket rack. Pre 2016 has threaded nuts on retainer clips, but the 2016+ has straight holes through the roof.

Thanks for the info! I was just looking at that thread actually, trying to browse as many as I can find on here to see what works (that LX570 pic thread is dangerous for my wallet).

Just to add some info for the forum.. how similar is the Aussie LX to the US spec? I assume the 5.7, but AHC suspension? 20” wheels? Have any pics?

Kilcarnup, can you recommend anyone in your neck of the woods who sells a larger aftermarket mud flap for these trucks?

Morning Block,

I do believe the specs are pretty similar, mine being 2017 I only had 2 options.. Enhancement pack and fancier paint. The enhancement package gets 21" wheels and some interior bits like heated wheel, ventilated front seats, heated 2nd row seats and ventilated 3rd row) for an extra AU$15k which I couldn't justify.

My base came with a 270kw/364hp with 530nm/390ftlbs 5.7L petrol v8 mated to an 8 speed auto.
All the usual leather interior/etc with dark wood trim. Will snap pics when I get home this arvo.
20" wheels
Optional Starlight Black paint ($AU1500 option).

Yes it does come with AHC which I have found handy when doing some rocky terrain with ruts (nothing serious but it feels more adventerous to lift it up haha) and in turn also handy to drop it lower to get the kids in/out of the back seats. It's also nice at times to put it into Sport/Sport+ mode for a firmer ride around town.

Full length rear ones or individual wheel arch flaps? I can have a ring around for you and see what I come up with

Excellent. Thank you. The fronts are my main concern. I want to protect as much as I can under the running boards.
