Hii Its very common to find a lot of Gasoline engined Land Cruiser in Middle East in fact so many of them. But Diesel engined LC are very rare and mosty in Bad shape. Up until 2015 Gasoline price was so low nobody really needed a diesel. Also Diesel fuel quality was not so good and it was even hard to find Gas stations with Diesel fuel. Toyota Considered all this issues and only import 1HZ diesel engine variants. And mostly basic trim in 105 or 100 series. Officially Toyota never import 80 series 1HD FT or 100 Series 1HD FTE. most registered 100 series 1HD FTE are in Fact japanese LC 101 like mine Imported to UAE in 2010's converted to left hand drive and some how Registered/imported to middle east countries. So It is very rare to find in Middle East even more harder in Saudi Arabia. In last 5 years I find around 6 LC 100 with 1HD FTE. 5 of them were really Trash with unreasonable Price. One of them was a very clean european import in very good shape but the owner knew the Value and price was out of my reach. This white flake was checking all the boxes. not too great but not too bad very reasonable priced.
Currently The global market for 100 series with 1HD FTE is very high. In UAE there is a very strong junkyard bussiness and they bring lots of Half Cuts from Japan. But the demand is also very high. Most 1HD FTE goes to Africa. But luckly No one really understands or cares these Cars in Saudi Arabia and I was luck buy a full car less than a cost of Halfcut in UAE market.
I do alot of deep desert drive. Before it was short trips So I enjoyed Nissan Patrol with TB48 Engine. But once I started long distance Safari in Empty Quarter 1700km in 12 days etc. A strong Reliable Diesel become must. I invest on Isuzu Dmax. But the pleasue of Driving a Land Cruiser in long distance desert drive I cannot compare with any other 4x4. specially considering AC FAN in between the driver legs........
