Good golly, sliders, ipor rear, or roof tent, my poor wallet is going to have to make some tough choices soon.

FYI amazon's price has been reduced to $1358 for the Simpson 3 tent which includes shipping.

I still think Ryan has the better deal at $1000+shipping. The Amazon price is for the tent only and I think he was selling these with the Annex which is another $257. Amazon taxes CA purchases now so I'd have to add another $143 for a total $1780.

Ok so i am able to ship from a commercial address which will make shipping cheeper. If anyone wants on I would try to see if I can ship it to a commercial address so it even cheeper. For example if I were to ship from residential to residential be $500. If it was commercial to commercial it would be like $300. That what I have been seeing with these quotas. I dose vary on location.

Could have PM'd, but thought others might have an interest in this as well, so:

as I am designing right now an O/R trailer, it would be great to know -

1. what these tents' closed-position dimensions are, and

2. Would they be suitable or unsuitable for RTT of a trailer versus a vehicle - given the significantly lower profile of the former. This is likely the case only with respect to a tent's "patio", I am guessing.

Thanks -

Ranger

I just picked up one of these this morning from Ryan. Got it all mounted up tonight.

Great looking tent, seem to be good quality, but like shane said, they more closely resemble the CVT or tepui offering.

Met Ryan and his Dad, great people, great tent, buy with confidence. Will post pictures tomorrow once it is daylight.

What would be shipping to Toronto, Canada?

Shane how do you like yours? Or better I might ask what don't you like about yours!

BTW I highly value your opinion only because it's a reflection of your leather kits!

I love it!

I'm pretty OCD and over anal about the little things.

When I first used it I was upset about all the shavings from the holes that were drilled that were everyplace. Now from owning it and understanding them more I've found out that they are assembled in a way that the shavings find their way inside. Then I said out loud yelling FAWK it's made in China, what do I expect.

I ordered a FoxWing from Amazon and excited as its "Australian made" and supported to be the best. I kid you not, shavings every place and a made in China tag at the bottom.

Bottom line, people who pay $2,500 for a RTT that the same style are idiots and won't compare, or have to the "best" these folks shoot Perrazi shotguns when hunting pheasant, have all the Filson gear and buy their wife a Coach purse from the outlet store.

The rip stop fabric is super strong, it's built the same way as the others and maybe the same plant. I've had mine on my 100 for 6 months and camped more this year that I have in the last 15 (had some health issue that slowed me down) I've had no issues what so ever, it go up quick, down quick and sleeps well.

Back to the awnings, I've had all CVT offerings and like the 55" if you want a small easy to open and it can be deployed off the rear.

Also the guy ropes are junk, tossed them and so was FoxWings. So I replaced all of those and the zipper pull.

I guess I have one bitch, I've been told the cover puffs up when in the freeway, so I'm looking into a way to deal with that.

Plus Bobby has great customer service and deals with all issues.

Buy a LabRak roof rack and get 20% off a tent ;-)

To Shane's point, i saw a a couple alum shavings but nothing to get too upset about.

For $1000 WITH annex (and no shipping because I'm local) this is a no brainer.

Ryan and his Dad are good people. They have more cars that some used car dealerships. Cruisers... They have enough of those too haha. FJ40, FJ60, FZJ80

I'd buy one if I wasn't 22 years old with limited funds.
