Not to dash any hopes, but they've been working on it for a long time now (2 years+) so don't rely on it coming out soon. With that said, the Scangauge is a great piece of kit, I definitely recommend one if you want to scan/clear codes, monitor gas mileage and see real-time numerical data (temps, voltage, timing, throttle position etc). There is a bunch of info about the Scangauge in 80 series tech

Just used a buddies code reader and it said it was the APPS.... just fyi

I've replaced two in two years and have a complaint in with Toyota. Next one is on them. Track as much data as you can when on this repair.
 
I know someone with a whole new throttle body including all new sensors just incase it fails on them while out on the trail.
