I have a 2016, and was looking for a new phone mount solution. For a while I had a Gamiviti speaker cover setup which was awesome, but a bit overlandy when I returned my 200 back to daily driver duty.

I ran across this clever mount from Offroam that is subtle and fits in nicely with the 200 aesthetic. It has a metal 20mm ball mount.

It firmly mounts to the air vent with a clever clamping system.

I was using Quad lock mounting which worked well, but I got sick of their ram style ball mounts failing (rubber self destructed).

I recently moved to the Bulletpoint magnetic mounting system in my Grenadier, and figured I'd do the same in the 200.

Here's what I ended up with:

I think this is a trick setup.

I may just order another one for the other vent (it fits either side).

Exactly, not available for 08-11 or 13-15 LCs, the sexy OG 200 series. But even available for #notreallc250. This is discrimination.

Yes. I fwd their link to my attorney

Hey. That’s pretty nifty!
Thanks for sharing, CharlieS.

I think I’m going to get one.
But can you say why you went with the arm?

I mean instead of mounting the phone more directly to the 20mm ball with something like this:

I think that would work fine too. The short arm gave me some maneuverability so I could make sure the phone was in a position that worked for me.

So, after seeing the post by @CharlieS I went for the OFFROAM phone mount.
The thing is great; it installed in something like 30 seconds and is quite strong. But I really really like the RAM phone holder we’ve been using for quite some time. Problem is, the RAM mount uses 1 in. "B" size balls and the OFFROAM uses a 20mm balls. This means I have balls of different sizes. Which means I need to adapt!!!

The solution is an adapter which I have used for other devices and that’s a “17mm to 25mm Aluminum Socket Arm, KALCINTY Length 3.5" Composite Double Socket Swivel Arm Compatible with RAM Mounts B Size 1" Ball 17MM Adapter”

So, if You’re like me and wind up in a situation where you want your balls to match-up then this might just work for you.

I have a bunch of Ram arms and Bulletpoint arms. One cool thing is you can get ends that fit either 20mm or 1" (Ram) balls for the Bulletpoint arms.

Sounds like your balls are in good hands.

Well… shoot.
I received my Offroam mounting base today.

I stupidly thought my existing MagSafe charger had a 20mm socket. Turns out it’s 17mm.
And googling doesn’t find me any MagSafe charger that has a 20mm socket.

(The link I attached in post #10 is a phone holder, it doesn’t charge.)

Is anybody aware of a MagSafe charger with a 20mm receiver so I can attack it directly to the Offroam mount?

If not, I guess I have to go with the mounting base - to an arm - to the charger. This is less minimalistic than I hoped.
(But still better than my current setup)

I have the Offroam mount and their Magsafe charging holder. I love it and it holds securely for daily driving. Haven't tested offroad yet.

Offroam and Bulletpoint MagSafe chargers are 20mm
