I just bought a 2013 GX460. It was an old couple down the road who racked up a total of 30K miles. I did the oil changes for them so this worked out great on both sides. This is for my wife and she wants it to look like "those Australian SUV's that you look at." So we decided on a more aggressive but comfortable AT tire and some rock sliders (I cannot believe my restraint!!). I am looking at two tires and I can be swayed to another or better product. I live in the Tampa St Pete area so WET handling and sand are my main obstacles. My uses will be primarily a DD with some trail use camping and exploring. It will go off-road but nothing crazy. (Good Trail truck)

265 65 18 - Nitto Ridge Grappler - XL rated - 43LBS - Good reputation for being Round and lasting pretty long. I have run the M/T very successfully on Jeep JKU, Also pretty quiet compared to the very light AT tires
265-65-18 Falken Wildpeak At3w - B Load 114T (similar to Nitto) - 46 pounds - 55k tread-wear warranty - NO experience with brand -sounds like Falken fixed many of the balancing issues according to many of the reviews - NOT SURE on noise, Many comments about good wet traction - Cost is LOW
265-65-18 - GoodYear Duratrac - XL 114T rated (Same) - 42 pounds - They get a little greasy as they age 30K+ in the wet (My experience) They are probably louder than the above tires (GUESS??) They were pretty quiet but you knew they were there with the windows down.

I'm very happy with my AT3W's. I had Walmart install and balance them with no issues and I have the E load. Nice and quiet on the street too. I downsized to 265/70/17.

Nice PIC and nice RIG. Are you finding any negative effects with the E rating? How about road noise? Does it get worse at any speed?

I am also with the Falken AT3W...I am on 33"/ E rating. Running a Dobinson lift and extremely happy with the ride. It honestly drives better than stock.

No issues with road noise at speed. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet they are, of course the GX also has a lot of sound insulation. The E rated tires are heavier, and my gas mileage is down somewhat compared to the OEM wheels and Goodyear Defenders I had on before.

I've got about 100 paved road miles on 265/70/17 AT3W P-metric. Mine balanced fine, I don't notice a noise increase over the oem all season tires. Happy so far.

I messed up on the post! I want to run Stock 18inch rims at this point. So 265-65-18 is what I am looking for. Also I am looking for anyone running Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Any thoughts on these tires would be great. Again this is a DD and family truckster. It will go off-road but more trail truck that rock crawler. Thanks again

I have a buddy who is complaining about his falkens wearing down too quickly with road use. Is happy with the traction, though. I’m using the toyo open country, with good results

Just pulled the trigger on the Nitto Ridge Grappler. Thanks for the help!!

Can't go wrong with BFG A/T's! They'll last you a long time also!

I just had the new tires installed today. On looks alone I really like the new Ridge Grapplers. We just had some insane rain that I got caught in after I had the tires installed. For those who are familiar with heavy Florida rain you can understand. There was a lot of flooding and standing water. I was able to maintain 40 mph which was way to fast for the conditions with only minor hydroplaning. (very open road) This was a very good result from these tires. The water was BAD. (There was a river going across the road that flooded out a Honda Civic) So my first take on the tires is they have good wet handling and resist hydroplaning. I am not able to say much about cabin noise yet due to the very wet roads. I will update with more observations. 265-60-18 Stock size

Quick update: I drove 200 miles across Florida this past weekend. It tracked great at about 80mph. I am running them at 36psi cold. It was about 90 degrees that day. I would say yes they are a tad louder after 50mph than the stock crappy Bridgestones. However, only with the radio off. You cannot hear them with the radio on at a normal listening range. I would say slightly and just a little bit louder than stock at this point. I am about 3 gas refills into these Ridge Grapplers and I am happy.

I took them offroad in some sand and FL fire roads. I took them down to about 20psi and they were great. Nothing challenging but enough to know that the normal stock tires would have struggled.

So far so good

How's your millage so far?
Some time ago I started a link for people to post what kind of gas mileage they're getting per their tire size.
When you get a chance to check you MPG can you post it here? What's your GX MPG?

I got 19mpg. It was about the same as stock. I say about the same because I4 SUCKS. The traffic is crazy. Most of the drive on I4 is stop and go. I did start out at 20mpg coming down I95. Overall no significant difference that I can see from stock tires. Also I had the family and my dog with bags. It was a pretty good load

Best I've been able to pull off on my trip to South Lake Tahoe from San Clemente and back is a little over 16 MPG. But I have very large tires (33.8" BFG M/T's) and completely loaded as an overlander, including all our ski gear, etc. But it's still a lot better than my Landcruiser overlander that I replaced!

I swapped to 17s and 275/70/17, Hankook DynaPro ATMs, smooth and run quiet. Dobinsons 2" HD lift is bouncy till I get bumpers, but ride is smooth and I stay planted in rain well, E-rated tires, so not how much I'm loosing there, but you gotta give to get~
