I like it. A bikini top wouldn't cut it in my neck of the woods, but I'd be inclined to live with it in AZ and put my money into other stuff. No reason why you should hesitate posting any concerns about it around here.
I think the '65 is better than that yellow rhino lined '78. All the diamond plating scares me it looks like a cover up. Another thing is the aftermarket turn signals. Also how the hood is mis aligned. Was it in a rollover or just poorly mounted? As stated before the square tubing is almost art project looking and the front bumper has rebar in it. Yes unusual and unique but in my opninon unprofessinal which makes me think it is a hack job.
The fact that he owner doesnt know what kind of transmission is in it also scares me. It looks like it may be a SM465 or somthing similar from the way the stick shifter is bent but I really have no clue.
Getting back to rust cover up you can see where the rhino lining has chiped off due to rust on the winshield.
Do not call this guy back on this cruiser. It looks like a waste to me.

Looks good for the money. As usmcruiser said, beware of the diamond plate. Look closely at the inside of the rear fender wells and under the rear sill for rust or obvious dents. Why is the parking brake "missing"? Is it because of a non Toyota T-case? Or did someone not attach the cable after the SBC swap? Unusual front bumper too, hopefully they didn't weld it to the frame
