Al's, Heron, tent trailer has served our family well. But we didn't use it last season so it is up for grabs. It needs a little tlc but is a great little trailer. If the club wants it it is theirs.

If not, the first member who says I'll take it gets it.

Steve

Wow a wonderful offer for the club. If the club passes we've always wanted one but never had the dough. ;)

Could it be towed into places like Sourdough?? It would be cool to use as a "Headquarters". For the club though it would most likely end up a beer parlor and gambling den. If my family ended up with it I'd make some kind of small donation to the club treasury.

If it's Sourdough worthy it might make a great spot for registration and keeping the swag and stuff. But then again someone would have to store it too.

My vote is that Chris gets it, and does not make a donation to the club...

If I did end up with it I have a spot to keep it stored and would happily loan it out to other club members when not being used. It would make weekend trips to the lake quicker and easier than sleeping on the ground.;)

Chris, It is yours. I know the club will get plenty of use out of it. It needs some tlc, aka marine epoxy, to get it up to speed. It is very comfortable and we really enjoyed it.

J, it has been a combination of things. Mainly needing to be very carefull with $$ as a non working dad and spending time with the family. As the $$ situation improves and the kids get older ill start coming out to play.

Wow....what can I say....Oh yaa, Thanks of course!! Jeeez, Marine epoxy, do I get that down at the recruiting office?? Do I have to get a haircut first? I'm gonna set it up next to the house and use it for a Man-Cave this summer and get her fixed up for camping. Remember guys I really intend it to be a club asset. If we're not using it and it could make your weekend trip a nicer one just pull in and hook up. Wow, I can barely change a tire- hope this isn't a mistake--------NAH! Not with friends like I got! Wow, Steve guess we should get together soon huh? Gotta find my little hitch/ball thingamajigger.

My kids used to love it. Even set up in the back yard they would just hang out in it.

I repacked the bearings last year so they are gtg. A little strategic glueing and screw work will get the trim all back in place. It does fine on fire roads but won't go far off road with those little tiny tires.

I'll talk with you soon.

Got my trailer from Steve today. A big "THANK YOU" to Steve for his generosity. Once we get it cleaned up and legal I will let you know it is available for use. It's my new MobylHome..! :p

Thread Resurection....!!

I'm bringing this thread back for an announcement!! This little trailer that Steve gifted to my family has been crying out to be used but, alas I simply don't have the time and money to do what needs to be done(which isn't much) but still needs doing. I have the pink slip that Steve signed over to me- I never did go down and put it in my name. So to all club members this is available at N/C to whomever can have some fun with it! I bought some replacement tail lights you will have to get a propane tank for it and repair the stove burners as I found them to be pretty froze up. The little thermostat controlled heater worked great when we tested it. Just needs a tank of propane. I have has a chance to look at several old tent trailers like this one recently and I can tell you the tent on this one is in really good shape with all little holes nicely patched and all the screens and zippers working. Cranks up and down no problem. Good tires and a brand new spare. I appreciate Steve letting us have it but I think there is a better home for it somewhere within the club- or if not the club can take it and use it for the Swag Swamp at McGrew and elsewhere! Let me know if there are any takers. If not we can always put it on CL for a couple hundred and put the $$ into the club's treasury.

What do you think?? :meh:

Anybody who wants to come look at it call me at 541-727-7274. Someone is always here OK?

I'd be interested in it for a summer or two. We were thinking of buying a trailer but until the kids are gone it would have to be enormous so maybe something like this would work til we figured out a plan. I could fix the little stuff then turn it over to another member when I'm ready or just let people borrow it when they needed it, all for free of course.

I'll bring it over when we wrench- unless you're excited and can't wait to get it, then come and get it. We had it pitched all summer and it made a great storage shed to keep most of our summer camping gear but I emptied it out and sealed it up a couple weeks ago in preparation for the wet months. It is small and an older model but it is in surprisingly good shape and I'll bet you'll use it way more than I could. The stove is made so you can cook inside or you can hang it on the outside where there is another outlet for the propane if the weather is nice. I think Daphne and I are getting to that point where when we camp it will be just her and I and the back of the cruiser will do just fine. Use it and then "gift" it to another club member or do like I was going to- just make it a loanable club member trailer. Because it's small it would tow so easy.

It's all cleaned out. I was gonna pull it out to the edge of the driveway but, once again, I can't find the sleeve with the ball on it!! This would be the one Steve basically gave me when I picked it up from his place. Either I can't keep track of them OR somebody keeps taking it off the truck. I was only pinned on there, no lock. I'lkl keep the driveway clear Jesse, it's ready to roll.:bounce:

Don't forget the pink slip when you are here!

Well, we opened her up today and I must say, its the height of 1982 fashion! After checking things out and putting in a little work this thing will probably only make it a year or two before it gets leveled and made into a small motorcycle trailer. All the wood is rotten on the sides and it has numerous leaks, just none that have done any damage to the canvas. In the meantime we might use it a couple times but anyone is welcome to take it out for a weekend or two. Its kinda cool really.
