Bumping this up. I'm going to be mounting this on Yakima crossbars (just two for now). I've been thinking about mounting options. I like the u bolt idea, but I'd like the top part free from bolts jutting up at every corner. Any other ideas?

Maybe @WildYoats will chime in. I had same issueAlso having trouble connecting to the site. I keep getting redirected to ww5.wildyoats.com which is a spam splash page.
Last pic is EPICI built a J-moose roof rack following a @WildYoats website. I picked up the rack for $79 from Cabelas and Gamiviti gutter mounts. I cut off the hinges, bolted the two racks together, added 1.5" strips, and extensions to the front and back. I think I calculated cost at $400.
I love this rack and wouldn't hesitate to build another one exactly like it. I've modified it for kayak holders, awning mounts, and my roof top carrier mounts to it securely. Since it is a flat rack, it is easy to install oversized items on top and I don't have to worry about the aluminum rusting.

I am not sure if you are looking for a specific gutter mount, but I made my own custom Rack years ago and used these gutter mounts with great success.Site is down, where are you guys getting the gutter mount things?
I used the 30*/60* gutter mounts to keep the rack as low as possible. I will say the aluminum on my rack has help up great but the powder coating on the gutter mounts is starting to fail along the edges. This summer I am going to pull them apart sand blast the powder off, remove the sharp edges, and finally repaint them matte black.Site is down, where are you guys getting the gutter mount things?
