Hello,

There is some good all around info here. Thought I wold join. 1981 Jeep Cherokee. Currently in progress. 4" spring lift, engine work, paint, and interior refinish.

Good looking starting point. Take care of those OEM wheels, they have a lot of value especially with the OEM center caps.

360 or 401?

AMC 360. All original truck. I have rebuilt almost all of it over the last two years.

Nice. They are beasts for sure. What transmission and transfer case?

Had I known then, what I know now, the FSJ would have been a better way to go twenty years ago:

That is a lot of work you did. I used to have a CJ-7. My tranny is a TF727 and NP208 TC.
