No Dobinsons shops down here in the sticks of Southeast Missouri :). I'd be curious to ride in a rig with them to compare how they ride and handle. In hindsight, probably 50/50 chance I would have went with the Dobs to start with.

The usual reaction of my off roading friends when they ride in the GX is somewhere between "oh this is nice" and "this is so much better than [other vehicle]" 😂

My friend with a 3rd gen Tacoma has a sent of FCPs waiting to install. A different friend with an FJ just scored a set of King 2.5s for an absolute steal. It's not exactly apples to apples but can get a pretty neat comparison soon

So it's that time of year for rust treatment. For those of you in the rust belt, any particular companies you recommend? There is a local Krown dealer in St. Louis, but I've read that they drill access holes to apply the coating. For some reason I am opposed to this.

It's how it's done. I use woolwax. I just did my frame, but to properly do the body and get to the back side of the sheet metal. Nothing to be concerned about.

Woolwax is the way to go on the outside, Fluid Film on the inside of the frame. If you have a small pancake air compressor, you can buy an application gun from Woolwax that will spray both products. Mine has held up great and I'm on a three year cycle for re-applications. My rig was also a bit on the rusty side when I started it, and the applications totally stopped it.

Toyotas really don't have body rot problems so I'm not sure the Krown treatment is needed. I had looked at getting that done at their shop in STL as well but decided to just DIY it.
