I bought the truck about 1 1/2 years ago. I am considering some modifications or maybe try to get it close to show room. Not sure which way to go or expense. Looking for opinions if I can ask. What would you do?

I didn't pay a lot for nor had to repair much. It seems to be rust free and runs great but the interior is badly sun baked. Here is a few pictures. I would like to start replacing the interior but it seems to be hard to find parts. No salvage yard has a Toyota this old around here.

Really getting hard to find them around here too. I spend a lot of time in Pick N Pulls, and I have found that many of the little items are interchangeable with other years/models. Door pulls, window cranks, seat belts, knobs, buttons, steering wheels, mirrors, visors, etc. Have you tried searching/advertising on MUD classifieds for items you need? My 85 was really clean like that, but the bed was toast, so I found a matching replacement w/o any rust. I pressure washed the crap out of the bed and frame while it was apart and rust proofed it as well as I could. I think I used about 4 cans of RustBullet? I would ArmorAll/whatever all the plastic/rubber bits about twice a year and park it in the shade as much as possible. If it is not a DD, then think about throwing a tarp over it. Too bad they don't make these nice LITTLE trucks anymore. They are getting way over 25 years old which qualifies them for Antique plates, at least here in Arizona. John

The interior parts are hard to find. And when you do, the ones you find rarely are much better than the ones in the truck. If the parts are still in good shape - not cracked, broken, or damaged - you can take everything apart and use something like SEM's vinyl color to freshen them up.

Thanks for replying, I had a feeling it would be a quest for the interior parts once I started looking. I don't think there is much hope for restoring what is left of mine, there is a lot broken or missing pieces. I am rather proud of exterior being decent shape but a little hesitant to take a co-workers to lunch and my wife isn't feeling too comfortable. Walking by and peeking into interiors of other trucks of same body style, my interior is definitely the worst I seen.

BTW anyone know what series this truck is? It has A/C, tilt steering wheel. It doesn't have cruise, tach, power windows or locks. It is a V6, manual 5sp, 4wd with 4.10 gears. Is it the Base, DLX, or something else?

There is a place out in CA I think that is supposed to be the place to call for parts. I will see if I can find the last thread they were in.

And if it isn't badged SR5 then with those options it should be a DLX.

Edit: Check out California Mini Truck. The thread is down a few posts and is about 4Runner Interior parts. They had what he was looking for.
