Hey folks. Most of you probably dont remember me, but WAY back in the day (2000) i made it to one of your meets. at the time i had a lifted green '92 4runner. i was really looking forward to making it to more of your meets but things happened with work that forced a lot of changes including moving to Macon.

Im back now! the old 4runner is gone :( but i just bought a 91 LC yesterday. it needs a little TLC but it should turn out ok.

I look forward to making it up to another one of your meets. Thanks for having me.

Looks great. Welcome back! We are still a little stuck in the stone age with respect to the forum, but keep posting...there are a few of us that are on here pretty regularly.

As soon as i can free up some cash (read: get approval from my wife) im going to throw on some tires with a little more aggressive tread. It will still be my daily driver so i dont want to go too crazy. maybe some 33 AT's. Any recommendations on some aggressive tread ATs with decent life??

I gotta tell you that I loved my BFG AT's. I ran them on my 4-Runner forever and they did great. That's what I am putting on my piggy when it's ready to hit the streets again.

Thats pretty much what i was thinking but wanted to hear any alternatives. i had some BFG MT's before and they did great even though they were MT's.

did I see your screen name over on the FJforum too?

Nice looking 80! I just put 285/70/17 Wrangler Silent Armor's on my FJC and I really like the ride on the street. I haven't tested them offroad yet, but they will get a good work out in a few weeks. Then I can give a full report on them.

Welcome and hope to see you at the next meeting.

I will be bringing another 80 to you guys in a few months. My wife, son and I are moving back to Atlanta where we grew up (not son, he is only 8 weeks old). Can't wait to get on the trails and meet up with you all. I guess I am going to be looking for some more aggressive tires for the South Eastern soil. I can't wait (I am going to really miss the California wheelin' and the SoCal 80's group though).

My Silent Armors have been awesome! Never had them in mud though. They have been great on rocks, sand, loose dirt, and even 2 feet of soft snow. They did great on the hard packed snow too. That is all that I have been able to throw at them here in SoCal. I have about 20K on them and the tread is still very good (I have not measures to see how good). I am thinking about buying a more aggressive trail set when I get to Atl. and keep these for another 25K-30K for the street.
