New boots for the land cruiser

Hey everyone!

Got some new tires for the LC... from the local 4x4 shop Sportsman 4wd. $1580 after mounting and balancing and all fees and taxes included. For FIVE. 315/75/R16. Costco price = $2280

Costco beat everyone else when I bought my last set... the hassle to get them on the truck was ridiculous. No one has a torque spec for a '74 Fj40 lug nut... the FSM says 'tight'. I finally got them to call their manager (at home) who had a 40 and he gave them a number and signed off on 33x10.50s. They were also worried about the tires fitting on a truck they were taking 33x12.50s off of. I didn't dare tell them it was a '77 FF rear axle and '76 front knuckles and hubs

Incredible price. What made you go from the Coopers to BFG MT?

Just the fact the Cooper's were down to 60% left (9/32) and i got such a smoking deal on the km2s. No favouritism for BFG.

Speaking of, I have five evenly worn Cooper Discoverer STT tires for sale... $500... Know of anyone interested?

How do you wear five tires evenly? I seen a six wheeled cruiser but never five. You have some mad rotating skills.

Haha just bugging you! Im always afraid to switch to the spare permanently when my tires are worn in. It's potentially much larger. I hear that's bad for the diff causes extra heat and stress. So i never end up using the spare except to get me home.

Fair enough! Haha, yes, somehow I managed to do it really well. Four are 9/32 and one is 10/32 with no tow or camber wear.
