Hey all, just thought I'd introduce myself on here and hopefully connect with some club meetups in the near future!

My truck is a 1982 BJ42. I bought the truck in February from the nephew of the original owner, who ordered it brand new for delivery in March of '82. Been a Crofton truck its whole life. The truck had 200 752km on it when I bought it, but the previous owner put a 12v bulb in the gauge cluster which overheated and melted the odometer solid on my drive back from picking the truck up. I've put around 1500km on it in the last couple of months, and have had it on a few solid road trips and it runs awesome!

I've fixed some minor body rust issues in various bizarre places, but for the most part she's very solid. I've got the power steering pump and tensioner installed but I don't want to take it off the road to install the mini truck power steering box i've got for it.

Here she is in her functional glory.. 3B diesel, 4 speed, OME lift, 33" bfg A/Ts, dodge durango center console, 24v converter, etc.

Like I said, I'd love to meetup and talk trucks some day soon! I'm glad to know this group is around!

Very nice cruiser there, and welcome! We do have pub meets, both in Victoria and in Cobble Hill (alternating). Maybe you could come to the one in Cobble Hill if its not too far? Will be in Aug or Sept. We also do occasional wheeling/expedition runs if you are interested.

Welcome....

I am in Nanaimo and Cruiserpilot is by the airport..We try to get out as much as possible for trail rides locally..

Nice rig! I'd suggest removal of roof rack for trail riding here in the island. Other wise overhead trees will do it for you.
Look forward to seeing it on the road soon,

Awesome! Thanks a lot guys. Haha, yeah, the roof rack makes the truck pretty tall.. Around 7'6".

Diesel Cruiserman- It'd be nice to connect with you guys for sure!
Cruiserpilot- do you drive a dark green rig? Because it says you're in Ladysmith and I work at Ladysmith Marina.. To the left on Rocky Creek rd past the Home Hardware. I keep seeing a nice green 40 around in that area!

Hey, good to hear from you. Good looking 42... We'll have to check it out when you make it out to a meeting. Not sure if I'll make the next one... My other truck needs an alternator, and I've always got a ton of stuff to do. Too bad these alternators would be a pain to install in a 40... 215 amp continuous... 300ish peak (cold)... 32 lbs... 8 grove serpentine belt.

Yeah nice truck. Saw it in my neck of the woods once in a while over the past 10 years or so. (chemainus, not actually a moon crater as my location dealio would suggest)

I only go to meetings every second year, partly because victoria is a terrible place to drink on a wednesday night, and partly because of Rob's busy hands.

yeah, that's my 60. Bug guts, dust and all! Been driving the wheels off it up island, see you around soon I'm sure.
I'll be at the 'All British Car Show' from 11 - 12:30/1:00
