Needing TIG lessons and ARGON

Well, here I am asking for help again..... I just picked up a TIG welder, and I have never been exposed to TIG. Looking for some teaching and advice, and I can come to wherever you are to learn. I need to make a cart for my new welder, so I have a good little project to learn on.


Also, I need an Argon tank for shielding. Besides going down to Kirk (praxaire) anyone know where I can pick up a used tank?

Depending on your schedule, this might be a good idea:

 Kansas City, Kansas Community College - Technical Education Center Continuing Education Classes - Adult Education Classes

I'm taking the Thursday night TIG class this fall. I've hacked around with TIG for a while and can get the job done, but I want to learn the right way and really become proficient. The price is right and the campus is off State ave in KCK.

If you decide to go this route then call them Monday - the fall classes start this week.

As for Argon tanks, I only know of the major distributors - Linweld, AirGas, etc. Airgas was several hundred cheaper than Kirk and Linweld on my plasma cutter- don't know what their gas prices are like. Smith Metals in Leavenworth sells tanks, but they might be high. I think DK Metals in Tonganoxie might - I've bought stock from them before but didn't notice if they had gases.

Kelly, I have an Argon tank with gas in it that you can have................for a beer or seven
PM me and i can bring it to 95th and Wornall tomorrow.

I got my tank from LinnWeld. Had it for several years. It was the only place in town where I used to live. They were pickey about exchange out for other tanks that were not "theirs". They also have a buy back for the amount you paid.
