Eric Jobe and I just received a pair of shiny new cage kits from Metal Tech :D. Looks like there's quite a bit of notching to be done to get things to fit properly. Any suggestions on where to source a new tubing notcher, or better yet, anyone have one to rent or loan?
Hoping to get Jobe's in before Disney ( crazy bastard defintely needs it!), mine possibly by then as well. Eric B.

if your looking for a cheap one try harbor freight should be about 39 -49 bux
you get what you pay for !!

I agree with techtafab. CHEAPO... but worth a try.

I found an online program that you type in the od of the pipe to notch, the angles and it makes a diagram that you cut on the dotted line, wrap around the pipe to notch and cut on the line. Really freaking easy.

When I get home, I will try to post it up.

old school

you will need a chop saw
set it at 23 to 25 deg
mark it about 3/8 to 1/2 deep
cut slow so the blade will stay straight
grind if needed

Eric.. Sorry we're playing phone tag. i have one at the house we need to hookup anyway I need to borrow your pex stuff. I'll try you on cell later today.

Looks like I'll be trying Erik's notcher tonight. If all else fails i'll get out the chop saw and grinder! Thanks to all for the advice!

sitting in front of garage awaiting pickup. :)

Finally found the site. I use this for my woodworking dust collection pipe, and it works great. also cool for differing size pipes.

Any updates? Good to see that green monster finally getting a cage in it.

Back at it tonight. Took the weekend off after staying up until 4:30am thurs night/fri morn! Should have both done in time for Disney - I hope. EB

Pictures of progress??

Also, want to know how much time you spent. I have a full powdercoated metaltech cage, that I would prefer to be different, and thinking of selling it and making it the way I want for the kids / family needs.

anything new mr butler? or mr jobe? and fyi I hopefully will need some assistance with a certain v8 soon. things are lining up quickly.
