The rust on my rear quarters is driving me crazy. Since I have no idea where I can get replacements (i have tried, if you know somewhere that has them, please PM me!) I am thinking about making my truck look like this- http://www.overlandexperts.com/bj75biodieseloffroadtruck.html

The back is from Adventure Trailers-
http://www.adventuretrailers.com/trucks.html I don't even know if they sell this exact trailer, but I am sure one can fab one up.

So, I have 2 options, 1)taking off my body and putting on a 75 pickup, assuming I can find one. Does anyone know where one can get a body? It would have to be a parts truck so I could get it into the States OR 2) cut it off and fab it all up.

I am thinking either option will be in the 6-8K range, which is acceptable to me. Like I said, I would like to just get panels as it would allow me to seat 4/5 and would be much cheaper than the other two. But, I do really like the expedition rig and would be satisfied with that option as well.

Appreciate any advice/comments/thoughts on this.

Cheers,
Jason

I believe Steve at EBI Cruiser parts is working on 70 series rear quarters. I haven't made a Coastal Cruiser meeting in quite some time so haven't asked about them.
I feel your pain, my 70 has a great solid frame and drivetrain, but the rust is getting bad, especially the rear 1/4s. Breaks your heart.

thanks Norm. Except for the rear quarters, the rest is fine/manageable.

I have been in contact with Steve, but as of last week, he had not started on the rears yet. He seems to have great products though, and, depdneding on what happens, I may end up waiting for him.

I was going to do the same as you so I bought the rear floor section (without firewall), the rear window section, and the roof from an HZJ75, I was just going to have a body shop cut and splice the rear half of the cab - and bingo I would end up with the pick up I always wanted.

Anyway, I ended up with an HJZ79 so now I dont need the parts - if you want them PM me and we can work something out - I want to get rid of them.

Mauricio,
Thanks for the link. I did not see the rear panels though, but I guess I need to call them. You said he speaks good english, as my spanish is not stellar anymore... :( Will let everyone know what I find out.

PS- I owe you some pics from when we went wheeling 2 weeks ago- been busy with work- sorry!
