Well I am preping the '82 for CM07 and decided I didn't want to drive all the way to Utah and wheel for three days on my broken drivers seat. So I was wondering what others have put in for seats or would put in for seats if they had the chance?

thanks in advance :grinpimp:

i have a drivers seat outta an sho taurus. really nice, all power adjust incl lumbar and side bolsters. 2 holes lined right up. 1 of the others i had to cut and bend down the bracket, then weld. the other i just drilled a hole in the floor. mine is a 94.

all may be good choices but all are out of fifteen to twenty year old vehicles. I just recently went to the U-pull-it and found a pair of very late model Mazda seats for forty-five dollars. (I know it's my first non-toy part in thirty years of ownig toyotas.) I am not ashamed, and my back almost loves me again.
All I can say is Cushy! late mod. seat w/ adj. lumbar support.
just my two cents!

Were these Mazda truck or car seats?

If anyone else has seat ideas, I need new seats for my '82 pickup too.

as you can see i have a thing about door panels.

You might have trouble using 84-up seats in an 82. The cab is certainly smaller. The 82 I had (wish I still had it) like 12-13 years ago was an SR5 so it had buckets stock. But they were not very supportive and were vinyl. I installed seats from a honda crx. I used the stock 82 toyota tracks and made some 1 inch spacers from a piece of pipe. Longer metric bolts to hold them to the CRX seats and I was in business. The width of the seat mounting bolts for the tracks to attach was identical. Probably one of the easiest seat swaps i've ever done.

Those suspension seats are nice. But unless you like to sit completely upright or were only 5 feet tall I doubt they would fit too well in an older regular cab. If you look at an older original bucket seat you will notice the seatbacks are very shallow depth-wise. Most seats don't fit very well unless you are short.

The mastercraft baja's are very shallow and adjustable.... They aren't really considered a suspension seat. By buddy has a pair in his 85 reg cab and they are perfect... He is 6'2" , also.

I have an '82 Trekker, so I can handle a thicker seat and I want them to recline. My main concern with the seats is that they fit on the floor and the mounts fit with minimal modification.

im putting drift racing seats in mine...... not really meant for 4wds but are comfy and are good if ya wanna run a 5point through em(like me)

I have some in my cruiser from an 80's camry. Comfy as crap. I think they're a bit wider than minitruck seats.

i put a Scat Procar seat in my 4Runner. got it at Summitracing.com a little spendy too, but its a nice combination of soft and supportive. also nice is the bracket is custom to the application. it has three settings for elevation, but the lowest one is the only usable one IMO. seat also has slider and lever adjustments for F-R and inclination.i like it enough to go ahead and get the passenger done too.
