Geeze! 12000 might be a little overkill IMO, an m8000 (or even a VR8000) would be enough for 99% of the situations you would find yourself in... But that just my worthless opinion

Don't want to derail this thread, because there is some good info in here and I'd like to see how the lines are routed to the Mr. Gasket cooler. PM inbound.

Alright, ordered the Mr. Gasket unit to replace mine. Now to just figure out how to run my lines. I have the Samco PHH replacement as well, so I may just do both at the same time if I have to drain the coolant.

Teddy. Some good info in FAQ section.

Don't have to drain coolant but you will need to drain the ATF from the ps system and refill and bleed when done. Just route the lines safely and wrap with some shielding where it crosses any edges or other objects. I sliced up the OEM brackets and used them As my new brackets to run the lines through some holes in core support between headlamp and battery. Now is the time to replace the hoses as well. The low pressure is cheap by the foot stuff at auto store. The high pressure line is $$$ from Toyota but there is an Avalon or Camry line mentioned by CDan that works and is a little cheaper. No interference with m12000 and arb btw. I used to have that combo

As to the 12000 being overkill..... Well he must be @SmokingRocks :D

M9000 with 120' of line out and a snatch block and a rev limiter dancing sc'd 1fz and a set of 37" iroks. Barely made it out. Barely.

My power steering fluid lines are pretty new, but from what I can tell, the lines on the cooler are filled with antifreeze? Maybe I'm confused (strong possibility). I am going to read up some more in the FAQ section and look at it a little better this evening.

@jfz80 , would you mind posting some pictures of how yours is set up?

The only other thing I can think of is coolant is dripping from somewhere above those lines, making it look like it's leaking from the PS Cooler.

I hate my username, was just getting frustrated when I signed up because it kept rejecting my other ideas. Knew someone would get me with it, well played sir.

Good info, I might up the size of my winch on my wishlist in light of your guys' insight.

Tough to capture with headlamp and bumper in place. I may have better pics on my ROTW thread. Check link in sig.

Looking forward from steering box

Looking down between batt and core support. Rad is to right. Can see some of my repurposed bracketry here. Just a hammer grinder and drill to reshape.

Looking from front. Between headlamp and core support. Hoses pass through access hole for bulb.

And looking toward driver side from behind ctr of bumper. Hoses pass down to the cooler (diff model than shown above). It fit behind arb fine but I had to trim the aoe to avoid re routing.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, that helps a lot! Turns out my power steering cooler is not leaking after all, but I'm still replacing it because the paper clip is looking rough. There was coolant leaking where my upper radiator hose connects to the block, making it look like it was my power steering cooler. I love this website:flipoff2:

Let this be a lesson to me, don't try to diagnose problems when everything is covered in mud.

did you have to cut the paper clip off or r did you remove the entire cooler line and replace it with the rubber hose i see ?
yes I had to cut it off...sawed it off and adapted the universal...not the best job, but its held up so far.

So, I was looking some more last night. Once I install the Mr. Gasket unit, can I not just replace all the OEM lines to the pump with 4000 PSI Goodyear line and hose clamps? Is that what others have done? Is there any reason this would not work? I feel like it would really simplify the whole thing for future repairs and maintenance.

...I read all the FAQ I could fine, but couldn't find this question answered directly.
