Wanted Need An Odometer

The odometer on my 82' FJ40 quit working. All the parts sites want to sell me an entire working speedo and I don't want to pay that kind of money for something I don't need. I'm looking for someone who has a spare speedo assembly laying around that might even be broken (as long as the odometer is good). It would have to be off of a late model FJ40 with the highlighted 55 like mine. Or since I'm not sure about this possibly one out of an FJ60 or 62. Landpimp told me this would work and I want to take his word for it. If anyone can back that up I'd appreciate it. I'd prefer to buy the odometer still in the assembly that way I can be sure no small piece has fallen out. Thanks.

i know its ebay but there on there all the time cheap . at least to me and you never know when you will need the other gauges . some times just the speedo shows up or do what poser said get it fixed good luck

Would it be cheaper to get it repaired than just swap it out and roll the numbers to the correct spot?

You might be able to fix it yourself. Check the gears. They tend to get munged up with dust and stuff over the years. Just write down the numbers, then take it apart and clean out the old grease on the gears. and hit it with some bike chain grease and reassemble.
It's easy.
