If you are running OME 863 in the rear I need some measurement help.

The measurement from the top of the rear axle tube to the bottom of the frame and brief desciption on how loaded you are. Im trying to determine how much my springs have sagged.

Thanks in advance

I can take a measurement when I get home this evening. My springs are relatively new, less than 90 days on the rig.

@LandCruiserPhil,

Frame behind rear bump stop to top of axle between sway bar and spring, 9.75". This is with rear bumper with dual swing outs ~250lbs, 285 spare, high lift, 2 empty NATO fuel cans, 14.3 gallons fuel in tank, and 73 lbs tools/recovery gear in the back.

11 1/4" with 1/2 tank of gas, cargo space empty.

Wow light weight makes a big differance

Currently Im at 9" includes a 20mm spacer:eek: @ 6750lbs

In a perfect world I would like to end up with +3/4" over where Im currently at.

@chap79 do you know he weight of your 80? Can you post pictures showing the stance of your 80 to save me from searching:D

My total weight as is right now is 6200.

Not the best pictures of empty but the only one I have since installing the 863s.

Here's a loaded picture at about 6900 lbs from my math. Empty I am not quite level, about .75" higher in the rear. Loaded I am about .5"-1" lower in the rear, but I am running a 25mm spacer in the front.

9.75" with full tank of gas, 35" spare, and 130# of cargo. 2nd and 3rd row removed, no hitch, stock bumper.

A little better pic. Slight angled grade 6900lbs.

New springs are in
take aways -
OME springs sag very little over the years of beating (old springs available on Ebay soon)

There is tons of room and effortless to remove springs if done correctly

IMG_6955[1].JPG

I have noticed in the past my large diameter upper control arms were making some contact in the bracket pocket. Scribbed needed metal removal for proper clearance.

IMG_6971[1].JPG

When it was all said and done it looks like a gained ~1/2" by replacing the rear OME 863 with new.
The before, after, and loaded numbers.

Ride height at wet travel weight lacking me, Sam (dog), 50lbs of food and a clean pair of panties.

Too late, but for fun, I measured 11" No 3rd row, no tow hitch, mostly empty gas tank, 265 spare under the truck.

@LandCruiserPhil You still running the spacer in the rear too with the new springs?

Installed the 863J and now it sets proper. Definitely need my spring retainer with 863J. The springs are very loose in the picture from this past weekend.

The tire on the other side still hits the top of the fender.:( Next step is to increase bump stop by a 1/2" and increase my shock spacers by 1/2" and see how it works.
