Name this shifter

Does anybody know what this shifter is for. Backround, I found it in the back of my 69 parts pig, which is a 3 speed column shift. The top plate has " Downey " on it. Is this a 3 speed floor shifter or ? The shift pattern doesn't look right. Straight line.

A fellow Pigster, is wanting to go to a floor shift, instead of the column. Will this work for him?

Ron, dont know if it will work for him. Downey is located in Cally and I believe they are still in business. I purchased parts years ago for my 79 Hilux 4x4 pick-up.

OOPS, they specialized in Toyota pick-ups and Landcruisers mostly FJ 40 stuff.

I thought Downey Toyota was out of business. Guess I can Google them.

I looked and couldn't find them.

That looks like the 3 speed one I had in my 40 before I went to the SM420, but mine didn't say anything on it. That looks a lot like the 3 speed floor shifter if it isn't one.

Downey closed up shop a few years ago. They were heavy into the early V8 conversion stuff. I did my first V8 conversion with their parts in 1977. As part of the conversion you had to go to the floor shifter. They offered one for that purpose. It looks the same as the top patern on my old 3 speed tansmission

So, this should fit the 3 speed in a 55, right. Same box, I thought.

that looks like it work for a mid 60's 3 speed, there is no reverse light switch. if he has backup lights he'll have to figure out a way to trigger them, or get a top plate with the switch.

I have an old 3spd/ boat anchor laying around with the same shifter from Downey.
