If I go, I'm bring my wife and kids ( 5 and 21 months). If we can't make the trail, I guess we'll turn around. Gonna make this happen hopefully. Just popped the hood and saw my leaky valve cover. Gonna tackle the top end first before this meet/trip.

Everyone's welcome. Hope to see you out there.

The first time I ran it a VW synchro was with us and did just fine, without a low range. We also passed an early 90's gmc Sonoma that was completely stock, working his way through. They are smaller, but I've seen stock trackers buzzing trough Naches also.

Any stock land cruiser could run this trail, and truthfully will probably be more fun to drive than a built one.

Worst case, park it and catch an open seat.

Mike,

How could I possibly back out now. I can't let no VW Syncro show up my 31" blistering snow tires!

Someone pack a tow rope! JJ and his family are making this.

Dude, this is gonna be a nice trip. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm not sure what Michael has in store for us. He's been out of the loop the last couple of days. I'm sure he'll fill us in.

Not so sure the lower loop is a great idea with our group size/assortment. I was thinking we would bypass... you want to split the group and take anyone interested?

What all is involved in the lower loop? Is that where funny rocks is at?

Sounds like a plan to me. Not sure how capable my rig is but I'm always down to find out.

Sounds like a fun run.:) Unfortunatlely, I got too much going on that day otherwise I'd make it.:frown: Maybe next time you guys go on another one I'll make it since the wife needs to get some wheeling time on her rig.:)

Everything I am readings says NW forest service pass is needed, just a FYI. My cuz said the lower section is pretty tough but all the tough sections have pass arounds so no biggy.

Funny rocks is on the east side, the lower I was talking about is the west side.

Thanks for the update. I'm definitely down the try the lower half.

As much as this whole pass thing pisses me off we should all try and have our passes being that it will be a sunday and probably busy up there. This is the first time I have known you need a nw pass for other then parking but for a day pass its 5$ so I guess its easy and cheap enough for us to comply. And it (supposedly) goes into improving our land.

On a other note if anyone cares I looked into this pass mess and they do have a interagency pass that covers a lot (wdfw, blm, federal, bor, national park), but still not state land. So if you spend 120ish on two passes, (the other being disco for state land) you should be good for a year...

my rant is over.

I'm with you, Kyle. It's looking like we are going to have a really nice turn out and it's going to be a lot of fun. No sense in jeopardizing that over a few bucks. I wonder if the Safeway we are meeting up at will have passes for sale?
