I was inspecting the area above my brake pedal in preparation to do the VSC delete and I came across this braided wire attached to a dark bundle on the PS above the gas pedal and connected to a fuse tucked behind the gas tank and hood latch area. Is this OEM and if not, any idea what it could be?

The braided wires went into the fuse and the fuse had a ground wire, as well.

The second picture shows the fuse attached to the braided wire and the black ground wire

Yeah not factory at all, follow the wire and it will probably find the module.

Seems aftermarket for sure, follow it back the other way to find your answers

Why are you trying to get rid of VSC? I've had that save my ass plenty of times. You could also just lock up the center diff which turns off VSC and is a good thing to do in off road scenarios ( At least in my 02 it does ) but when I'm hauling ass around slippery corners I've got no problem with my VSC checking me a bit and putting me back in line.

@cbbr @Eyedaho I clipped both and got shot in the face with confetti. Must have been a clown car before I owned it.....

But seriously, I need to see what's inside the tape-wrapped object in the top photo, from where the braided wire originates. Mystery wiring is the f'n worst.

Yeah, without a wiring diagram, us humble humans are reduced to physically following wires to see where they go. Thanks PO!
