Mystery holes (1 Viewer)

I could use some help identifying these holes. Holes on pass side and one set on the drivers This a 11/68 U.S. spec build. It had a CB based on the hole on the body. both sets measure 1 3/8 apart. would it be a CB mount of some kind on both sides?
40 is new to me so I am still trying to figure out what’s there and not there and sort what works and what doesn’t. Thanks!

Previous owners love to drill all sorts of holes. Definitely not OEM. Just ask @Mars . He has had the pleasure of filling in quite a few.

Thanks. The outline looks like a placard of some kind. Since they are both the same size that’s what had me thinking something OEM.

thanks, didnt think of that. i thought that it could be a safety strap too but they dont look right for that location.
