Are you running stock rods or aftermarket on this build?

GT35R with a T4 .82ar hot side.

Big turbine housing .. ! sure you are already make the numbers and map plotings .. which it's the rpm range that you expect full boost .. ?

Not sure. I plugged the numbers into the Garrett calculator and came away with that unit. I have a friend who is into Audis look at my calculations and he agrees that it is a great fit.

Provided that I can get the fueling correct I can expect around 375hp at the crank at 10 psi.

I dropped off my block at the machinist today. This guy used to race and has built engines exceeding 4000 hp. He asked me what kind of boost I was running. I told him what I was planning initially and his answer was, no problem. I then told him my target and he replied,"this thing is so overbuilt it's ridiculous", "Unless you are planning on 30 or 40 psi don't worry about it."

There is a 2.0L Honda engine in the shop right now which will be running 40psi and have 500hp at the crank. I'm pretty sure I'm in good hands.

You generally don't want your turbo active while off roading. That's how you break stuff.

yep. blower is useless and a liability if trying to go slow and controlled. gearing down minimizes the problems

I cant wait to see this unfold. So Rick, it sounds like you are going to have the bottom half of that 1fzfe cleaned up too. Cutting no corners. You dont do it any other way. good luck

The turbo is going on a mildly built truck. 2.5" lift, 285s and stock gearing. That truck will be set up for distance driving and mild wheeling. Kind of driving out to Moab from Boston and then sticking to the easier trails before returning home.

More biased to on road rather than off road.
