Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share a couple of pics of my new truck I bought on the weekend! It's a 2011 VDJ79 with 28,000ks..... It's less than 12 mths old! We had a huge weekend picking it up we spent over 40hrs in sooty and did approx 2400ks

I have big plans for this one........

I saw that on e-bay last week - nice score!! I had all sorts of dreams as to how I would stuff that motor into my 60 Series!!;p
 
Nice score , nice colour rig
It makes the new dash look like the airbags are only for show.
 
Mechanically so far it's A1 ! The only problem is I think it may have a snapped axle on the front drivers side, the rear drivers side has a broken spring eye !

I think at this stage I will try and find another wreck and rebuild this one! I'm not sure the best way to go about it as yet so more than welcome are your thoughts and suggestions!

I was going to talk to profits cruisers and see if they could supply me with another complete cabin??

Cheap "new" 79 series!

Anyone who has been following my threads on sooty would know I've just fitted an intercooler and had the injectors and pump done !!

Wow I'm so stoked with her performance over the weekend! It towed the big 79 really well!

Well at least untill we hit QLD roads!! Far out our government should be shot! No wonder why there are so many deaths on our roads!! The roads are rooted!

Is the chassis bent?
You could probably find a new cab for a fraction of the cost.
There has to be a 79 that has been rear ended and bent the frame or something.
I hope this project works out well for you.

I am really digging your 75.

Hey Karter, thanks mate, yeah I'm stoked with the buy, I can't do anything on it for 3 months at least, I need to find a shed I can work from!

I don't believe the chassis is bent at all, suspension is shot, and the front hub on the drivers side!

Thanks for your comments on my 75, she's a good ol girl, I just pushed her fairly hard for over 2000ks and it ran like a new one, if not better , the aneroid, pump and injector work has done wonders!

I have been a little conservative..... But I still ended up getting just shy of 150 HP at the wheels!

How are you going with yours mate?

I've just given sooty (my75) a face lift , I'll post you some pics !

I scored a second hand warn 9000 lb winch just recently too!

If the chassis is good, I "think" the front housing is the same part number as a 80/105 series front housing, dime a dozen and cheap, arent profits cruisers in canada or something? no point getting a shell from there, dime a dozen locally, around 3K last time I priced a shell with hanging panels.

I am hoping to get the same results. I placed an order for my Gturbo the other day.
Won't be installing until June.

What shape is the motor in? Any knocks?
Looks like you could have a good project on your hands if you pick a cab up for cheap.
I sure would love to have a 75 like yours at some point.
 
Without doing my pump it would never of got there ! Highly recomended if your truck has got some ks on it!

The motor starts and runs perfectly, my brother came over yesterday in his 76 series....... He thought the motor sounded perfect ! Sounded no different to his.... It didn't spend anytime upside down runing, it landed on its feet! They guy came away from it with a black eye after the UHF broke its mount and smacked him in the face! He is very lucky!

What is that thing?

I bought a performance ct26 from Graeme
Planning for about 14 psi.
Pump will get an aneroid when my original pump gets a rebuild

What psi you running from that turbo?
 
$25k is cheap...... With a tray a new 79 here in Oz would cost over 70k on road!

I don't believe it will cost me that much to repair!

Worst case is I will buy a second wreck that has been hit up the bum or a bent up chassis but good body! This thing is ..... Well was :-) like new!

It's in very good condition...... Considering !!
