Damn, you've got skills! With that power steering box, use crush tubes and a fish plate to secure it to the chassis.

Thank you very much!

I am startting to overhaul the engine while I am waiting for the painter to finish up some parts.

Wow looking good mate and all the work will pay of if you keep her for another 50 years fuel permitting. My fj45 project has a HJ 3.6 deisel engine sitting in the shed waiting for a transplant when fuel gets to expensive. I can drop the deisel in and run it on cooking oil or make my own from waste. There wont be to many cars on the road but our trusty old cruisers

Hey Jesper! Great to see another Danish build thread, and really impressive work :-)
Where are you living? I myself live near Hillerød, and as you can see in my sig line have a few old cruisers with the wife.

Hi Christian

Thank you very much. I live in Jutland near Silkeborg. This is my first Toyota Land Cruiser project. And so far I like it - expect the really high prices on spare parts etc... That is sick!

Well I just looked through your thread on the norwegian forum, and I'm in awe! Although I knew we had to have a few around that actually could do sheet work like this, I would have thought they only used their skills on Jag E types etc., not on what was a work truck here first, and later something to be bashed around till death in a gravel pit.
But I salute you for doing it!

As you might have noticed by now, since you clearly has the bug, these vehicles are worthy of the attention; well built from the factory, a part of our automotive history, and there's not many left (the gravel pits and rust has taken their toll on the numbers).

Regarding the cost of spare parts, I agree, but it is possible to find some parts cheaper than what Toyota asks, besides, you should not expect to buy them more than once ;-)

My wife drives an immaculate BJ42 that Toyota on Fyn restored, and I drive a HJ61, that needs a new body, besides that I have a HJ45 bus that needs a new body too, the project on that one is to make it in to a family car, so you're not alone here in DK, I know a few that puts a lot of attention in to their 40 series.

Again, thanks for sharing your work, I am certain that more pictures and description of your work is more than welcome here on MUD!

Hey

I am thinking about making some custom spare wheel carrier on/in the bed. Just got a message from the carpainter today - he is ready for the last parts now and hopefully I will have the car back in less than a month! Then the funny things will start :)

Finally the paint job is done

Hi everyone it is very close to a year since i bought this project and now the paint is done!

It looks okay. There are some smaller issues that has do be corrected along the build up but it is durable. I am satisfied so far even though the tailgate is a mess! it was really bad and dents all over the place... and it still is ;)

Very soon it will start to look like a Land Cruiser!
