Some of my complaints so far with the Lexus GX550
- It gets pretty terrible gas mileage, 13mpg, I wish it had a larger fuel tank, ~250mi range
- I wish it had starlink roam instead of att wireless
- I can't figure out how to turn on the massage seats
- I wish the 2nd row was a few inches pushed back, using a rotating car seat is impossible
- I wish it had more leg room for the first row passenger

Other than that I like it a lot
I've got a little over 800 miles on my GX550 Overtrail and about half has been highway driving at 60-65 mph and rest in the city. About 75% of the time i've been running 93 octane in it (from Costco), and remainder of the time using 91 octane from Top Tier gasoline brands. Average mpg to date for the highway driving is 21.3 mpg and for city driving is 17.8 mpg. [NOTE: I've been using the Eco Mode for nearly all of the 800 miles so far, and i don't have a lead foot and tend to only gun it on highway ramps/merging and passing on 2-lane roads]. So far i'm very pleased with the gas consumption of the GX550...it's a heck of a lot better than what my 2016 Land Cruiser got (i.e., 12-13 mpg city and 15-17 mpg highway).

I wonder if my numbers are tainted from some off roading / trail riding

Even then, I'm no where near your numbers... I wonder if my car is broken, I looked at the range number and it's near ~200 on a full tank, worst range than my tesla lol

Interesting. My highway mpg matches yours, but my city is more like 10mpg--and that's going easy in comfort mode. Are you driving in a literal city or in a suburban area? In my case, it's a literal city, so maybe that makes the difference.

Isn't Iowa mostly flat? That probably has a lot to do with it as well. I can't go any direction without going up and down a couple hundred feet every so many miles.

Good point, majority of my ‘city’ driving is in suburban settings as opposed to heavy duty stop n go city driving.

Where I’ve been driving the 800 miles is rolling prairie so that definitely helps mpg. End of this month I’ll be taking a trip out to Ouray/Silverton area and will see how it does in the mountains and offroad.

Off-roading will destroy your fuel mileage, so I expect there's some impact there.

Unless you are hitting every obstacle at speed or just flat out being reckless on the trail/fire roads, alignment should not be affected.

I hope this is true. It's super easy to knock the 470s/460s/4Runners/Tacomas out of alignment on even mildly rocky trails. The cams aren't great at holding their position, which is why so many products exist to correct/strengthen them for these platforms.

That’s been my experience as well

I think I saw a picture of the front LCA cams posted here somewhere over the last year, and they looked like the same flimsy crap from the 120/150.

I am getting 14.5 mpg with roughly half highway (80 mph ave) and half city. Flat area low elevation etc OT+

It was less measuring more so an exclamation that the car gets worse range than my tesla plaid maybe I should have done a rivian instead, way way faster and none of the ridiculous exhaust droning

Am I the only person on the planet who hasn't measured his gas milage in 20+ years?
I stopped after it dropped below 10mpg; ;)

I use Fuelly. Each time I fill up I enter gallons and odometer into my phone. It calculates and stores my economy for each fill up.
