Very cool that you guys are working towards fixing all the little things...very cool!!

The 1962 40 was very similar to the earlier FJ25, in that many still had FJ25 parts, so you might like reading through the FJ25 section here on mud...there are a few 1962's there to enjoy :)

Here are a couple of 1962 40 threads

Yes you have rigth
my friend restored like 10 years ago and he buy the things he tood and he saw in the store like goes on that time ,
now we are get into it, that we know from this forum( very good thing we found) some of that thing we can found agen.
And also i think the black parts on the hood and seats where on silver pewter aren they??

Other thing....... The front turnsignals arent they came with both side reflectors ?
I have never seen one of them on a pic or real!!

Ooops, almost forgot...

JohnnyC already posted a great link for the dual turn signals, so you are good there :)

As for the black parts on the hood, seats, hinges, and back bumperettes...they would all have been the same color as the body in 1962, and you can see it clearly in the attached photo. The only silver/pewter was the front bumper, and it is an older silver color (which reminds me, that I need to go check on my silver to find a correct match)...

You will also notice that the bib lens were clear :)

Drool...great looking 40. Completely original or not, that color combination looks awesome! Thanks fir posting pics and keep 'em coming!

I took two minutes to try and "paint" those black parts in your pictures (I am not a photoshop user, so please ignore the sloppy work :D) I also did the white running boards, and the front bumper...sorry, I am not talented enough to photoshop paint the the interior parts the body color as it was originally. If you really want to go back to stock, (which is what I think you said in your post) even the turn signals, mirrors, gas cap, and the housings for the reflectors would have been the same color as the body.

By the way, that is a very rare original front bumper...very rare!!

Edit: Before, after, and then the back with the green bumperettes. Hope this helps

If either of you know I would like to know where the top and doors came from. The inside does not looks like a factory door, but not real sure. But they both look awesome and I will eventually will need them for my 1961/62 fj40, and that is the exact color I want.

Yes they are OEM soft door frame
the canvas is 10 year new!!
