Looks like I may be in the minority on this one as far as the head going on first... story of my life. At least I'm not to old to learn a new trick :)

Ok well thats what I'll do.

As soon as I get the head ill install that next. In the mean time me and a buddy have been busy, Figured since I have access to a sand blast booth and out door set up I'll just do as much as possible.

Hered some pics from today.

Was a fun day.

Powdercoating an entire frame will cost HUGE $$$, assuming you can find a place with an oven that big. Fine for a classic car that sits in a museum and only goes out on nice days to shows, but not practical for a truck that gets driven often.

I had mine sand blasted at a good shop not far from here, then brought it home and put 3-4 coats of Rustoleum on it. First coat was red metal primer, I think I went through a couple of quarts, then I brushed and sprayed several coats of satin black. I did everything I could to also get it inside the rails. I let it dry for a few weeks, then sprayed the heck out of it with a rustproofing material called RusFre. it goes on liquid, but cures like a sticky wax. After I get it all back together I'm gonna be keeping it all coated with Fluid Film.

Ok ok good to know. Thanks.

Got the chassis and axles pressure washed

And stumbled upon this on the inside of the frame rail just behind the front shock tower. Between this and the 2 or 3 cancer spots on the cab and the rusted out battery tray

Im gonna sand blast everything myself so I'll be saving some money.

You think high temp engine paint is tougher than rustoleum?

Also theres this super hydrophobic coating that prevents anything at all from sticking on whatevers coated its neat.

Well theres how she sits for the past couple days.

Im going to start sand blasting the chassis real soon then repairs will beade and 4 link the rear end.

Im also debating weather to fab up new motor mounts or buy a new set of the stock style rubber ones, ive read how the stock style dont hold up too well offroading especially with uber low gearing.

Thinking of something similar to the 1uz style.

Also i found toyspotrt and 22reprformance.com and see they have modded heads, can anyone chime in on who builds a good head?

Im sure they all put out heads that work but I would like a little extra umph if you know what I mean.

Im already leaning towards a crower stage 2 cam amd oversized stainless valves but id like a little port n polish jobby too.

Would love to see at the very least 125hp.

Hey yall ive decided to notrun my bed, if anyone is interested hit me up thinking 150 obo should be fair? Little to no rust and minimal dents on the outside the inside has wear but nothing bad at all.
