Does it run?

Seriously, can't believe anything that old came out looking like that. Are you a professional detailer?

How far south? Past me?

No, definitely no professional. When you get up close and personal to my paint job, you will find a lot of little mistakes...a couple of runs....wavy spots....etc. The engine bay.. every nut, bolt, washer, bracket, you name it, I wire wheeled or scrubbed or sanded....(except as Swamp pointed out the Clutch fluid)

I will put Rex's info in my book. The AC isn't on next weeks project list but it is on the list. My compressor makes a pretty sick grinding noise when you turn it, the idler is froze up, and the little radiator is covered in funk.

yeah, your not gonna need it next week thats for sure! but i know for a fact you will want it in a few months...

when it comes time, Rex is the man.

You can clean the outside of the condensor with some degreaser, and flush the inside with the right chemicals but the main thing is to make sure it aint leaking...

Let me know when you go to tackle the AC. i took a bunch of notes doing mine. in the mean time i would put some type of caps on the hardline connections comming out of the fire wall.

Thanks for the comments. I smile from ear to ear every time I walk into the garage, jump in, turn the key and that sweet sound of the 2F announces itself (spark plugs and all). This one is mountain trekking bound...and not in museum condition like some of the others I have seen on here.

So that is what my paint is supposed to look like. Mine is falling off.

Nice to see another Light Blue Metallic on here :D

Your engine looks ridiculous, like Cool Cruiser's of Texas ridiculous.

Nice Work!

I like that Weber on yours....makes the engine compartment sleek. Gotta love the 861 Color. Do you have more pics of yours from the side and various angles? I am getting ready to get some BFGs but can't decide on 33s or 31s. I am currently sitting on 31s with a 3" PE lift and I really like the look and the gear/tire ratio. Looks like we have the same wheels too.

Ask and ye shall receive.

Those help?

I'm pretty much at sea level here. My cruiser gets around fine on 33's and 3.73's and Texas is pretty darn flat.

Re-gearing to 4.11's would be ideal if you wanted a 33 inch tire. Like I said I get along fine here in the flats.

I could sure go for some coils under my 60 though....

Thanks guys!

No build up thread?

My build up thread is scattered across 20 different threads over the last 3 months. Not many mods to speak of...2 lo, replaced steering shaft joints, headlight buzzer, fully rebuilt 2F, desmog, clutch, paint, and a couple hundred hours of wire wheeling and sanding. I don't know which part was more gratifying, pic 1 where all the prep work was done and it was paint time or pic 2 after final assembly of the motor. Kind of a toss up really!
