Damn that engine is clean, how'd you get it so pretty? I've been considering power-washing mine but I suspect some the grime and grease may be integral to holding the old girl together at this point. Anyone have any thoughts on the best methods for cleaning the engine?

Also, any opinions on the value of keeping the hood insulation? Mine has a nice big tear in the middle right now and I've debated just taking it out or replacing it.

Ha! Good eye Swamp...that is on next week's list. You should have seen the muck that came out of the brake lines.

mine is the exact opposite- pristine brake fluid in the clutch and the rest, well, i like to refer to it as a "protective layer"....

dont know what you are working with now...just noticed there were no hoses coming out of the firewall or condensor in front of the Rad, but the idle up for the carb is hooked up...
