So I decided to put some new tires on Rapido..... very impressed so far with the Toyo AT's , and will be taking her to Dallas/ Austin tomorrow so should have a better sense of how they run on longer trips but initial impression is that they're much smoother running then the Ridge grapplers while having all the same bite.

and they'll fit perfectly in the wheel wells once I remove the 15MM front spacer and got to a 1.25 " Slee for the rear......even as is, they have cleared the fenders but it's super close on the fronts...

I really liked the Toyos, but they were loud compared to the ridge grapplers. they performed well on and off road.
I had my alignment out after Colorado in 2016, wore down two tires pretty quick.

@TexAZ - agree they're not as quiet perhaps at highway speed, but seem to be softer and smoother riding.

@hamishpotter - we'll see.... I haven't found the right FJ45 or o"other" replacement and she is just so fun....

Keep it. Its a special truck not to be gotten rid of.

E just drop an FJ45 body on top

haha - I did really like the RG's and agree they're really quiet for as agressive as they look. but the ride quality on the AT's is much smoother once aired to 38f / 36r cold... the discount tire shop set them at 50 and I hated them the first 30 miles !

with lockers F & R and my 98.7% on-road use these match my reality .....when we get to big Bend next week I'll just air down a bit and use lockers if needed....but I was impressed in the minimal ranch driving I did this weekend...

I'll share pics once I get the spacers sorted and the lfit dialed ( pulling the 30 MM OME spacer out in the rear in favor of 10mm ones and turning the front CO's up a bit to get her level - especially now that I've got the dif drop in )

luckily it's a 2014 "507" so it's exempt from that issue ( pre mid 2011 was the turning point) and has all the forged crank, pistons and rods of the SLS.... with the LTH, E85 kit, intake and larger throttlebodies and misc stuff it's turning 537 WHP.... not too bad for a NA motor..... sadly the one thing it's missing that I've yet to do is a LSD..... that's up next, as rear tires are a 5-7k lifespan it appears...

while it's the utter opposite of the 200 they both make it hard not to grin while driving them...

They made 507s without a LSD?? Im surprised! I figured that would be part of the 507 package

I know - I was really surprised when I pulled the build spec. apparently 20% of the 507's came without..... this was the only 4dr low mile sedan in Magno matte grey I found over 6 months ( was really wanting this color) so I'll deal with putting in the LSD after the fact along with the differential cooling fins from the black series.

hoping to take her to this fall's Texas Mile event - i couldn't get her finished for last month's run.

I really like that color! It looks awesome.
Easier to change the diff than the color!
My family had a CLK black series as an extra car for a while, it was the best car I have ever driven. Raw. Raw power, rough ride, amazing handling. I love those Naturally Aspirated AMGs

Don't really know where to list these in classifieds as they don't really fit in any category easily...

Some spare parts I'd love to find a home for :

  • Maxx trax mounts - new (SOLD)
  • Slee MattTraxx mounts for the SLEE rear bumper - alum and new.
  • 1 3/4" BORA spares - new, these are for 5 bolt rims
  • 18mm BORA spacers and longer wheels studs ( don't know for sure that they are the correct fitment - BORA did send them as revised but... )
  • 2 -SLEE 200 series foglights switches (SOLD)
  • 3 switch ARB panel for Contura switches (SOLD)
  • Warn 18k forged tackle block - new
Pm me if interested - pricing subject to proximity and ease, not look to do more than find it homes and recover some funds for tires for the DD......
