Dude that thing is trick.. sub'd so that I can copy this when I get/build a roof rack!
And really can't go wrong for that price...

OK, Frank

You just determined my summer project.

Kick down with the hard details:
1) size of rectangular tube you used
2) Pivot pins - What are those ones with the fat ends? Source?
3) More detailed pics on the "keeper" knobs that lock it to the rack

Dammit, Man
That is cool

MacMasterCarr part numbers : Bushings 8492A224, Threaded knobs 5993K41
Rectangular Tube was ⅛" thick 1"x2"
These are the knobs I used...

Are you happy with the set-up? What's the story with the support rods of the awning? Are they integrated, or do you have to fish them into the fabric?

Support rods.. that help keep the awning standing free are all fish from the base and into the actual fabric little cups of fabric, so yeah they have to be fished....
I think this is one of the reasons this awning is not as popular....

Im happy with it being out of sight/out of mind, that is super light and follows the KISS mentality....
I havent had the chance to actually use it but I know I will pretty soon......
HOPING to be on the road for 2 months during the summer......

I you go with another awning type.. you might want to think about beefing up the swing arm to something with more width.....

Are you going to hit the Bakersfield rally the end of April? I'd love to see this in person.

I doubt it.... Im taking some classes right now... No plans on anything until after mid may

C'mon, it's just a nice Saturday with a bunch of Cruiserheads

man, talk about high intrinsic value on this set up! awesome! had to call shady boy to inquire about this cool awning (for some reason i thought they were in west coast canada?)

great work and thanks for sharing!

They are in Canada, in Surrey.

They do charge $50 shipping to the USA...

Finally got outside to play..

At Laurel Lakes at around 9k elevation.
having the shade was great, the awning held up the wind that was up there...

I am digging the versatility of your set-up. Looking at changing my current set up.

^^ that's a cool set up. It would be great to see a variation of this arm with a different awning...
I havent had the need for an awing or some sort of shelter for my rtt but I know I will wish for one when the rain comes down ....
