The thing that I am not clear on is if the lights come with it, or if we need to find our own .
If we need to find our own, how do we know which ones to get?
Are these still priced at around $50? (IIRC)

I sadly was not able to ever hear from PHILLIPS on the lights (trying to get you all better pricing). So, yes, you will have to get the actual LED lights on your own.

They are the PHILLIPS LED DAYLIGHT 8 model. (picture on page 1):

AMAZON ($150): http://www.amazon.com/Philips-12824WLEDX1-DayLight-Powered-Daytime/dp/B005DX6BKW
or
SAVINGS LOTS: ($130)

Also, I have another set of LED lights that I am also trying as an alternative (less $) that may fit. I have the lights and will report back in the end.

Price on the brackets will be just a touch more,$60 a set plus shipping (sorry, stuff added up real quick).

Nice. You should see them any day, they were shipped immediately. ;)

Johnny it it's not too late, count me in for a set.... please let me know.... Thanks...

Brackets came in and look very nice! Made the mistake of getting my lights installed and ready to go, and not thinking that I would need to route the pigtail through the bracket first.

A question and a couple observations/opinions...

What did you use to mount the LED to the bracket you fabricated? The Phillips kit only supplies screws for mounting their snap on bracket and not the bolts for the optional holes on the back of the LED. I did not see any bolts in your kit for this purpose.

If the two holes on the rear of the LED are used for mounting to the brackets, the holes are off about 1/16th-3/32nds of an inch. I'm not sure if I will have to enlarge because I don't have the bolts to test fitment yet.

If you do not want to tap into any wires then simply run the pos/neg wires directly to the battery (no switched power supply needed). This system is pretty trick, in that it will only turn the LEDs on when it senses alternator voltage (engine running) and then time delay auto off. At this time I will not be hooking up the third voltage sensing wire that dims the LEDs at nighttime.

THANK YOU!!!

Paul

Hi Paul,

I am fairly certain my Phillips kit did indeed come with two stainless screws for the back side (at least if I can remember correctly - but I am old ya know, lol). Anyway, that is what I used. The two holes in the back are just a hair off but they still screw fine without enlarging the holes when attaching the lights, no problem there.

Thanks!

Thank you. I'll take them to the hardware store and see what fits.

FWIW, my Philips light kit did not come with the mounting bolts either, just the sheet metal screws as TYM4FUN has mentioned. Hardware store.

Just got back from OSH and the screw size is #10-32. 5/8ths looks like it should be the perfect length. I will know %100 when I get to work on Monday...

This screw size fits perfectly. I purchased screws that have locking washers attached to them.
