Why it's called the "Oracle Control Road"...

A little bit of history....

Bit of history.
Long story short, this was the only "highway" to the top in the 1920's. Because it became a popular cool off retreat and it was (and still is) a one lane road, The Model T & possibly the A traffic jams warranted 'control of' when a group could come down and after several hours, when the next batch could go up. Hours are posted in Rocky's pic.:cheers:
 
I found this on one of the Catalina National Forest Web Site. There's a couple of other cool old pix, but this had some relevance to our trip.....
