It was insane to me how many people at my sister's place just left it all sitting there. Boats, Jeeps, Trucks...all just getting flooded and they had plenty of warning.

I know this makes me think if I would have had the time with Katrina I would still have a lot of stuff that I truly miss.

My heart goes out to everyone that gets flooded.

I drove back from southeast Missouri today. We went through where they blew the levee in New Madrid and the water was all along the highway and all the way up to the bottom of a bridge that went over a normally small creek. They had sand bags along I55 to keep the floodwater off but today it was tricking across the road. Lots of water along West Memphis.

Here are pics from Harbortown. Aka mudisland.

Bonnie Carrie will open first if it hasn't already. There is some debate over Morganza as towns like Krotz Springs will be underwater if they do. Hate it for those people but they have to consider the greater good. They can't just let Baton Rouge and New Orleans flood.

My friend's place at Wolf Lake has water up to the door. His lot, as long as he's owned it, has never had water anywhere close to being threatning.

Damn Grog, that's rough. Looks like a great place for water moccasin refuge so be super careful on clean up. Give me a call if you need any help.

I am not a member there anymore. When I said "My Deercamp" it was the one I was referring to earlier in the thread.
Thanks anyway. We worked on my sister's house on Saturday and it is surely under water today. The latest pictures we go it was right to the top step and that was 2' under crest.

Here are pics from the drive from memphis to mountain view. my route took me through Newport and batesville AR. I felt like I was on mobile bay bridge most of the time.

I took a walk down by the river front last night and watched a beautiful sunset over Lake Mississippi - it reminded me a lot of watching the sunsets over Lake Michigan, with water as far as you could see. I don't have a digital camera anymore so I couldn't take pics, but holy waaa there's a lot of water!

Tunica Co MS

This is the house we stay in on Peter's Island, Tunica County MS, when riding ATV's (and getting 80-Series land cruisers hopelessly stuck on sandbars--that's another story) The house is more like a lodge on the inside (NICE). It sits atop a 5 ft mound in the middle of cotton and bean fields. The house sits atop a cinder block foundation that is another 6 ft high. Peter's is bordered on the west by Midway Lake and Huges, AR is just to the north, The casinos are visible from atop the levee. House has 2 1/2 feet of water inside in this picture.

This Blows.

On a bright note, just found out the westbound traffic of I40 from Memphis to Little Rock is open and no longer detoured. Eastbound was opened on Monday. This is good news for me, as I head back on Friday.

I feel so bad for you guys who have been affected. I can't imagine :frown:
