You should be getting a 40 tooth reluctor ring PN# 33130-F? depending on you transfer case. Then you will also need the sensor.

Is the old 2F any good?
For sale?

Yes, it runs well. I'll be posting up in the classifieds probably tomorrow. Smog pump will probably go separately since it's OEM and was purchased and installed brand new only a couple years ago.....

OK cleaned it up a little...

After thinking a bit I figured I would clean it up a little...

Awesome Project. If You Have Some Extra Money When The Project Is Done, Look Into A Magnus Supercharger. I Have Installed Them On 6.0's And 5.3's And 1 4.8. Holy Cow. You Want Some Bottom End Torque That Is Extremely Driveable This Is The Best Supercharger On The Market For A Vortec Motor. Magnus Will Actually Give You A 3 Year 36k Warranty On The Motor For And Extra $300. About 6k Installed. 4100 For Kit.n Just A Suggestion.

I would!! I have always liked the chargers. Put one on my 454. Big torque mean sound and just looks GOOD!

HA! this conversion is taking all my "extra money"!! Besides, I'm not THAT power hungry.....I'm just super pleased with the blue bling!

It is pretty hard to argue against putting a small block Chevy V-8 in anything on wheels. It is just about the best reciprocating fossil fuel burning engine ever made.

If you going to spend much time on pavement that V-8 is a real treat.

Good luck with the installation.

Just curious what the total price tag is going to be to have this conversion done. Parts and labor

I'll post that up when we're all said and done. The many options you have to do this kind of conversion can really affect price. What engine you choose, what shape it's in, what adapters you choose, tranny choice, wiring, etc..... I ended up ballooning my total cost by $1600 when I decided it was time to put in a new H55. So far though, the big ticket items have been:

Used 2002 Vortec--$1100

Downey Adapters and misc -- $1200

Wiring\ECu reprogram (custom built wiring from scratch) $1000

H55 Tranny -- $1600

OMG, I truly did not need to see all that in writing!!!

What about labor ?

Just curious, I had a V8 and the same tranny put in my FJ60 and was wondering how much other people spent doing it. I had a small block Chevy, 5.7 that was new, smoged for the peoples republic of CA and it ran 17K. It does run really nice though.

labor can kill a budget, but good work costs...
mine (my labor, so parts only) cost me around $6600.00 (good/quality)labor could easily double that, easy. I scrimped whenever possible, so it could be more, could be less.

my .02

Update

H55 should be coming in Transfer rebuild is in route. Now just have to wait for the tranny. Will pull it in this week and pull the front end off and get the engine ready to come out.

Man I would be nutting in my pants waiting for this rig to get back and in my hands if it was mine. Can't wait till I do this!!!!!!!!!

Love the pics and keep them cuming
