Having the thirsty 3URFE engine never help. Today, I got a different view. 40+ miles commute after filling up, i’m averaging 19+ mpg. 3 weeks ownership and i’m loving it every day.

Man if I got that MPG I'd think something was broke!
 
When my 2011 was stock, it held 18.9 mpg all day on the highways in west Texas. So that's legit.

Now add a lift, winch bar, rack, muds went to 11mpg. Added 4.88s and got back up to 13 mpg... but 20 smiles per gallon.

I will attempt this on our upcoming trip. It's a 2400 miles round trip to FL.

I would say it's hard to get the mpg shown above. Today, it's all about timing. Highway is not congested with minimal slow down or stop/go traffic. But, I'll take that any time. My typical commute mpg is about 15mpg going through local route. Stop and go traffic is not helping.
 
Stop and go is part of MPG. To run to Ohio from CT I can run a full tank dry in one straight shot across PA. That’s the best, but unrealistic MPG. I also hit the mens room ASAP.
 
Well, believe it or don’t..... filled up in Las Vegas, New Mexico.... drove to Thornton, Colorado.... filled it up and did the hand calc ...... 20.2 mpg. I do have a light foot and the truck was pretty much mt....and pretty much stock. Seeing 16 - 18 in suburban driving/county roads.
 
I got 20 mpg driving stock tires from AR to MO when I bought my '11 but was @ or below 65mph. After I put on RW wheels and Falken 285/70r17 AT's I dropped a couple mpg. Higher speed limits and mountain/hilly terrain of WA and ID keep me around 15-17 mpg most of the time hand calculating for a 4% larger tire (subtract a mpg or so for winter blend). Not bad for a 6k lb ft 4wd rig.
 
So what this thread is implying is that I should be getting more than the 220 to 240 miles I am getting out of 20 to 21 gallons? :p

AT tires will certainly rob some mpg.

It’s all about miles per smile.
 
That's what I always say- smiles per gallon, although I so want to add the aux tank....
 
Just home from towing my trailer on 600 mile fishing trip , I got 20 yards to the gallon! YPG ! I just love driving my LC no matter the gas mileage.
