I doubt the story about purchasing the kit from Lexus unless someone can corroborate that Lexus ever sold something like that. Thanks for checking and letting us know it's a weird case.

picked up a 2017 LX that was very well taken care of. looked up service records and everything checked out. it appears the back seats had never been used. the hard plastic in the rear did not have scratches all over like I had seen in other vehicles. had just under 50k miles. only gripe I had was it only came with one remote and the local Toyota dealership claims they cannot program a Lexus key fob.
ended up at $54k which I thought was a fair price.

I made a comment a week ago about this guy leg humping Armadas and was told to calm down.
Armadas aren’t the most popular car in school drop off lines, ball practice, Starbucks, and Sephora parking lots for no reason!
A friend bought a new one a year ago so she could give her High School son her 20 year 100 series, now she wants to give him the new Armada and get her 100 Series back, kid is like no way, I don’t like them, everybody’s Mom has an Armada!

Thought it might be a good time to upgrade either the 11’ or 15’ and here is what I have seen on the market for retail pricing with the exception of a few outliers the past few weeks.
Nice Land Cruisers with good history, it seems low mileage 21’s are hanging in the $80k’s, HE’s about original MSRP. 16‘/17’s seem to still be in $50k’s if under 80k miles, 13-15’s with less than 100k miles are in the $40k’s. LX‘s are notably less expensive and mileage, major accidents are having impact on values as it seems there is a solid but not overwhelming amount of inventory on the market.

Figure a reputable dealer spends ~$2500 in reconditioning/ancillary charges and wants to make $5k.
Sadly yes, this feels like market. If this was $50K, there would be a line out the door (myself included). Not really seeing many good deals on the 2016 refresh models, older pre refresh seeing some more value oriented pricing. I do feel like there has been a slowing of inventory, perhaps dealers and sellers hoping winter will drive more buyers to get scared and just buy a 4x4 when the snow hits? Nostalgia, last of the V8, last naturally aspirated definitely are holding prices up but if Toyota / Lexus are going to finance new at sub-market rates vs 8% for a 7 year old 2016, it is going to be even tougher for people selling LCs and they all will just get listed on Bring A Trailer.This feels like a decent pricing, doesn't it? looking at a '16 with just shy of 200k miles, what price isn't crazy? Completely stock and looks to be in good condition
Not many comps at that mileage, so hard to say. I recently looked at a 1-owner 2014 with 245k and seller was firm at $22k. With the differences in 16+ I'd say low 30's just on that comparison?
Yeah, there really aren’t enough 200 series in the US for big swings in value other than the little dip a few months ago.
Unfortunately, when values soften most LC owners are fiscally conservative, they just hold until there is a good reason to do something differently, which can reduce the number of vehicles on the market.
However, the doing something different may be upon us. Year end and first of the year may bring a few additional units to the market as folks taking advantage of the 6000 lbs GVWR may replace their 200 for a new vehicle to start deducting and those will show up on dealer lots.
I don’t think it will be enough inventory to impact value other than normal depreciation, but may bring a little better selection.

That's my thought. I hate to replace the AG, but I wouldn't mind having the 8spd and an aircon cooling the jewels during our awful summers
This one doesn't seem too horribly priced. 2013 LC 89K miles, one owner, no accidents for $40K.
