I'm going again this Saturday morning 12/19. This time the destination will be Mormon Emigrant for sure. Tahoe forecast calling for 70% chance of snow but nothing crazy. My plan is to just wing it once we are there and can see what the conditions will allow as far as side treks on Forest service roads. We can meet up at the Tessoro at 50 and Sly Park road on the north side of the highway at 8am. I hope this post gets out to all those she were tagged last week. If you are interested, you are welcome to join.

Kyburz area is showing 100% chance for 5" of snow...is it a good idea to try wheeling in that?

5" over 24 hours is very doable. I am originally from Michigan and love Mother Nature. I purposely head up hill when I know it's snowing. Besides that, we can decide how deep to go based on current conditions. Going up there when it has not snowed and the trails are beat down and frozen stiff is not fun.

I remember the days when my kids we growing up, they loved the snow too. Have a great time and we will all try this again after the holidays. I will take a few photos for sure! Merry Christmas to you and your family.

shoot Steve jut caught this post. I live about 4 miles from the Mormon emigrant trail and get out for snow play often. will have to join up sometime. stop in if you like. -Chris

Really? Can you make it?
I am getting off shift in sac at 8 am and headed home. I wouldn't make an early start. gotta check and see what's on the schedule tomorrow. My wife is working at the ski resort and may need my cruiser. I'll know in the morning. text me 916-869-5030

there's not that much snow til you get up a ways and its most likely passable as its pretty easy to go around the gate
but hopefully its coming down later! the Pollock pines weather cam still shows clear and its not snowing yet, but it will. there are usually lots of people out there playing around. I've rarely been alone out there...but sometimes

Nice! Thanks! Hey I think your AFM gets crappy fuel economy! Lol I'm getting like 11. Could be I weigh 5800. Idk. I think the blown HG messed up my O2 sensors. I hope to be in a situation to give you a call.

Alone is a good thing brother! I forget I'm alive until I'm alone for a while. I have a story to share with you of my efforts to join your ranks about 10 years ago. Volunteer/academy/ emt/paramedic school all to be foiled by a divorce. I'm over it. Went back to my airplane wrenching job.
