I have been getting asked for years from the 40 guys to make them cup holders. I just have not had the time to get to this project until now. I have hired a few guys to take over my other duties so I can get back to product development; the one area I actually enjoy. I need some help from you guys in telling me what I have. I was able to track down 2 center consoles. What years are these from? I was able to design a single and double for the older console and a double for the new console. Step one is telling me what years these consoles were offered:
Console #1 What years?

Console #2 What years? One pic shows 79-80 but I'm not sure that is correct.

I spent some time over the summer working on these designs. Here's the single cup holder for the 78-81? console. These are protoypes so there is some issues with them but they at least cover the idea of what I'm doing.

Here is the double cup holder for that some console. I accidently over acetoned one edge and melted it. Just part of the process of learning a new print and support removal with sanding. The final versions will not have those flaws.

Sorry for the crappy pics. I just wanted to get the prototypes out there for you guys to see so I can get some feedback. I am pretty limited with space so there isn't a ton I can do but I am open to suggestions.

And finally here is the double cup holder from the 81/82-? 40 series. I don't have pics of this one installed in the console since the console was crushed during shipping. It came in a pile of broken pieces. I used duct tape to get it somewhat back together for prototyping but it's super janky. I really need access to that console in one piece.

Excellent work, I can really see the potential in your designs. I've not seen either of those consoles since mine is a 74 and had the older stamped steel console.

Random thought for the rear... a cup holder that attaches to the 'stock' roll bar. It could possibly also incorporate a rear speaker housing. I see your products as being a great addition to stock rigs without having to hack them up.

I'd also consider having a rubber liner that covers the bottom 1/2" of the cup hole. They would help prevent rattling and come out for cleaning. Our 98 Durango had them in the cup holders, and they covered the screws and could be washed in the sink if the kids spilled gross stuff in the cup holders.

Any designs for '78 and older? I have a '78 and the console looks nothing like the one pictured above for that year.

The console #1 you displayed is 1981-1983. Console #2 is 1979-1980 only. That being said, I would definitely be a customer for a 2 cup holder for both consoles.

Yeah, you need to get a 78 and earlier console in hand. I'm not sure which year started the stamped steel console though.

Perfect. Thank you for that info. That was exactly what I needed. Now I need to track down the 78 and earlier console.

Whoever loans me their 78 and earlier console gets a free cup holder out of it. They ship me the console and I ship them back (on my dime) the cup holder installed in the console. I would need the console for about 2 weeks to get a perfected final prototype.

Console 1 is 81+ as more as time.goes by morelater than 83 show up from other countries.
Console 2 was also used on post 80s without the optional rear heater. Don't believe the Columbian cruisers didn't have any heater much less a rear heater.

If no else is offering I could get the o e out of my 68. It has 74 seats including the center console. 73-78 had a steel center console. 72 and earlier had 40/60 bench seats.

I can offer up the console of my 77 as well. I just need to find a box to fit it. That is, if Living passes.

Yes yes yes please take my money for a 81+

My 42 needs this badly im tires of tipping monsters over when driving.

Not sure how hard it is to do but can the cup holders not be joined. Like each one has own hole

Yes but now any coffee cup with a handle wont seat down in the cup holder. The open slot is also really nice to slide a wallet or tablet into. I have never had a time where I felt the slot made more drinks less stable but many times I was glad I had the slot for my wallet or coffee mug.

PM coming.

Nice designs. Can't believe no one else has done this. Would love to have a cup holder for the wife's '82. I'm in line to give you my money.
