from what i remember all the ford sixes were good little engines. the mid 60s mustang and falcon ran these engines if i remember correctly, (it has been a few years)...
the 300 is the one i liked in the pickup...

Yah so you just described 99% of 4x4 owners. People who do not need them.

4x4 is a bling option in its own right.



Welcome to the forum. Show us some side shots. Its interesting to see cruisers used for more than just poser 4x4's..........It's all bling! Either an ARB/snorkle or lift kit. Lowered or lifted.

Nothing says a lifted truck does any better than a stock cruiser. Sure it rolls better.
They are made to most practical right out of the factory.

The old 60s 250ci iron head with the log manifold used in the early falcon and mustangs were a vastly different motor to the later alloy head cross flow motors from 1980 on.The 4.1 liter motor was designed here in Australia and Ford bought the technology to build the alloy head off Honda who actually built the first alloy heads for this motor until Ford could build them.

agree, it is all ASS (Attention Slut Syndrome). very few of us really need a 4 by, we could sit at home on stormy days playing cards or watching a movie or hike instead of ride the trails but we WANT to be different from the crowd, we want to stand out, we want attention.
i often thought a slammed fiberglass 40 with a blown 454 or 426 hemi doing 150 in the quarter would be cool. thankfully it never materialized...

I liked the crossflow.It had good power and come in carby,turbo and efi versions.
Some versions even had more power than the 302 V8 that they sold at the same time in the XD-XE fords

Crushers we had the 300ci but only in small batches of F100 from Canada .
Most aussies who bought an F series wanted bright paint and V8 sound.

I think those who own 4bys and wheel are a very minor owner of 4x4s. Very Minor....


those who own a built truck for wheeling but ends up never wheeled just for looks.... posers. I have seen more 4x4s jacked up that look like they want to go offroad but were built for the city...:rolleyes:

To me that is no different than someone who lowers. Like you said it Wayne, its cause we want to be individuals and have different rides than the normal.

Except where I live every truck is a 4x4, even if they don't need it..

Wayne: Saw a 'glass CJ5 once with a custom 2 x 4 tube frame, MII front suspension, SBC and narrowed rear with street slicks - front bumper was about 4" off the ground, and it just have been one fun ride......:bounce2: Likely weighed less than 2000 lbs.....Not my style, but it still was cool.....

Pulled a 3F out of it out of it.
Am down the Strand a lot, so you'll see me down there if you go down.

And the building and modifying of my truck I have dedicated in remembrance of my Dad, who died when I was young. He liked to modify cars and I hope I make him proud.

Do you mean the lge rectangular style you see on imported landcruisers?

Try your parts store. My shop sells some very high quality copies for about $180 and made from alloy ,not plastic.
I think they are Song Lin brand made in Taiwan.

Aye, the big square ones, I've looked at 100 series ones but the rounder shape won't go with the Cruiser.

Partington 4X4 here has none.

Am I able to order a set , and are any available in the next few days?
I'm currently down one mirror on the passenger side, so need them ASAP.

I just went and had look at your pic. The ones I am talking about are larger and rectangular and probably only fit a 60 series.

Try ebay ,you may get the small chrome square mirrors there.
Make sure its for a 70 series and not a 60 series. The door skin is a different shape where they screw into the door.

Why not ditch the chrome anyway and get black , they dont show the scratches;)

Really need chrome, kept an eye out on ebay for a while but can't find anything. How much modding is needed to get a 60 series mirror to fit?

Not worth the effort . The bases are a different shape
 
I think for most of the people I've met with 4x4's, it's mostly want instead of need. But there are a few where the want and the need are at the same level.

Look closer to home as shipping will be more from here, however if you can't find any then contact Sheldon at info@gscruiserparts.com

Came off Japanese cruisers so will be clocked for RHD. I know we have a good number of 6* series JDM large mirrors, just not sure about the stock of 7* series, but Sheldon will set you right if we do.
