I just ordered one. Thanks for updating the oil to 15k cst.

I already have a blue colored fan clutch in my 96, would this be an upgrade from what I already have? I have had problems with the AC shutting off while on the trail, slow rockcrawling, hot day. Will this help with that OR am I better off pulling the clutch I have and replacing the oil in it?

Car has 190k, do fan clutches usually wear out? should they be replaced or simply refreshed with oil?

thanks!

Noah

replacing the oil with a higher cst would most likely help. What I'm doing is advancing the timing so the clutch come in at a lower temp and putting in a higher cst oil so it pulls better at all speeds. So it will out perform a clutch with just an oil change.

Here in New England I've had clutches fail that just needed to be replaced. But we live in a harsh environment and that usually can account for most of the failures.

There is a thread in the 80 section if you want to dig deeper into your problem.

These clutches are brand new OEM units timed and loaded with 15k oil.
